The spirit of these characters is a great deal of fun to delve into.  The reader not only gets to watch the love form between the two, but the extremely passionate scenes make you wish with all your heart that when your car broke down and the day has turned bad, that a Dr. like this would pull up to save the day...save your life...and steal your heart.  The writing is absolutely...delicious.  Enjoy!

Yes, I know...some of you are already saying "Oh, great, another vampire book."  BUT, this is and, I swear, completely different than those love triangle, white-faced hunk vs. tight ab werewolf people.  This is actually a FANtastic story that adults will truly love.

On top of this gorgeous story, the illustrations are also just as beautiful as the words, themselves.  Every home should have this book resting on the bookshelf, and whenever we think about our pain, agony, and suffering, I believe we should always remember the journey that a frightened couple made in order to give this world a chance to survive.

From the great chase scenes, to the romance that erupts between the inventor and the newshound, every part of this story is unforgettable.  Not to mention, I thought the way Ms. Archer handled the issue of prejudice – from the America’s and their Civil War, to how Catullus was treated in his own beloved England, the author was able to really speak volumes within a true, non-stop adventure.

No one, including the author, knew that Dewey would become beyond famous – a little kitten who, on a fifteen-degree below zero night in Spencer, Iowa, was slipped through the book return slot at the Spencer Public Library.  And, from that point on, became the most loved animal in America.  Well…certainly in Iowa.

Author: David Michael Slater

The first two books in this series “Had me at Hello.”  However, the most intriguing and wonderfully exciting part about that statement is the fact that the third book in this series…is even BETTER

Author: Kaitlyn Dunnett

The dialogue is so much fun, the puzzle is mystifying and quite impossible to solve until the very end - which is always a plus, and the author, as always, adds that touch of romance between Liss and Dan to cover all bases for all readers’ interests.  Enjoy!

Author:  Jacquelyn Frank
ISBN:  978-1-4201-0985-6

With every series that Ms. Frank has offered to her legions of fans, she seems to have gotten better and better with each one (if that’s at all possible).  I, for one, have always been a fan of the stories that make up the series’The Nightwalkers; The Shadowdwellers; and, The Gatherers.  Each and every character has been unforgettable and the passion that they inspire truly makes for great stories!

Author:  Matt de la Peña
ISBN:  978-0-385-73827-9

It is extremely welcoming to have an author on the market who wants to teach love, faith, and even romance in the face of pain and adversity without using 'glamazons' on Rodeo Drive, or vampires in the rainy Northwest to do it.  This is a book for everyone who needs some answers, love, and, most especially, understanding.

Author:  Rachel Cohn & David Levithan

For any reader who fell in love with the Danger Zone Series when the first novel was released (The Devil’s Breath), boy are you going to be as happy as I am that the sequel has arrived. These books zone in on so many completely cool subjects like eco-science, religion, murder, X-treme sports, etc., that you wonder when Jason Bourne or Indiana Jones, even, is going to appear.

Author: Laura McNeal
ISBN: 978-0-375-84973-2

You know that old line, you had me at hello? Well, this author had me on page one when she introduced me to our main character fifteen-year-old Pearl DeWitt, and her amazing eyes. You see, she has a genetic trait called heterochromia which means she has one blue eye and the other brown…and the amazingly beautiful and horrific things she sees with them made this book a truly perfect solo-debut novel for this amazing writer

I have been a huge fan of these mysteries for years. Not only have I enjoyed the intricate plots, but I also love the cats as they make the human beings wake up and see the clues that are right in front of them.

Author: Sophie Littlefield
ISBN: 978-0-385-73852-1

This book is excellent from the word, go. It is so nice, after all the vampires, to have a truly mystical story in my hands that will lead young adult readers into a whole new world that they’ve never even had one inkling existed. This series truly has its place right beside Fallen on my bookshelf

ISBN:  978-0-3075-9350-4

From the fantastic writer who brought us unforgettable books like L.A. Author: Sabrina Jeffries

ISBN:  978-1-4391-6754-0

The adventure is great; the romance blossoming is lovely; and, the historical facts regarding the brewery industry were extremely interesting

There is no way else to begin this review except to say that every reader out there will find this novel so enjoyable to read, that it will be quite impossible to put it down

Author: Susanna Daniel

The story is in a beautiful setting, and the author has a way of making the scenery come to life.  In fact, the descriptions at times are so breathtaking that you feel like you’re reading poetry from the “masters.”  This is a welcome debut from an author who, if she keeps writing like this, will be around for a long, long time to come

Author: Judy Reene Singer

ISBN:  978-0-06171-377-4

This book is a “gift.”

Author:  Douglas Rees

ISBN:  978-0-385-73725-8

Yes…here is yet another book to satisfy the appetites of people who love all things “vampire.”  In the first novel from this series, Vampire High, we were introduced to a highly “snooty and uptight” group of people who are extremely tall, very strong, and, of course, have retractable fangs

Author:  Cyn Balog

ISBN:  978-0-385-73848-4

This is a fantastic new book coming from the author who brought young adults, Fairy Tale.  Not only is this new story even more imaginative, but the characters will most definitely become “heartthrobs” for all teenage girls.

Author:  Sofia Quintero
ISBN:  978-0-375-84706-6

I personally believe all young adults from all backgrounds, countries, and financial “cliques” should go to their local bookstore and pick up a copy of this fantastic debut novel, that teaches us exactly how really difficult are the choices we have to make in life.

Author: Christina Diaz Gonzalez

ISBN:  978-0-375-86190-1

Books like this are the ones that make you really appreciate the fact that you’re an American.  Even though people like to complain about how many things are wrong in this country, we do still have freedom…we do still have the power and the opportunity to make our children’s lives better than our own

Author:  W. Bruce Cameron

ISBN:  978-0-7653-2626-3

The author who brought us 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter (which was turned into a hit television series), has unleashed what, I would say, is one of the best books of 2010 with A Dog’s Purpose.  No…I’m not exaggerating even a little bit.  This is one of the most heartwarming, touching, lovely, exciting stories that I’ve ever had the privilege to read.

Authors: Fern Michaels; Cathy Lamb; Mary Carter; and, Terri DuLong

ISBN:  978-1-4201-0835-4

Yes…it was July 4th weekend, but I was unbelievably lucky when I went to mailbox on Friday, because I got to spend July 4th having Christmas with four of the best female writers that have ever graced the shelves with their imaginative, fun, and romantic works.  Being released in October of this year, Holiday Magic is a book consisting of four fantastic stories (I have to say, I wish there were more) that range from heartwarming to hysterical; comforting to romantic

Author: Barnabas Miller and Jordan Orlando

ISBN:  978-0-385-73673-2

As a huge fan of science fiction, fantasy, and young adult novels (not to mention a fan of authors like Dean Koontz and Stephen King), I still found this story to be highly disturbing; and, not in a good, fun, or even spine-tingling way

Author:  Stephen Messer

ISBN:  978-0-375-86195-6

Every paragraph of this story is absolutely beautifully written.  The windswept world that Oliver lives in is almost like another Neverland, where families are drawn together, adventure is around every secret passageway, and the sky is filled with the colorful silks and bright "tails" of kites blowing in the wind.  This is top-notch middle-grade fiction!  Enjoy it!

Author: Laurence Gonzales

ISBN:  978-0-307-27260-7

Lucy is a fourteen year-old girl who is, as my grandmother would say, smart as a whip.  Apparently, she's part human and part...ape

Author:  Aimee Bender

The writing is truly superb.  The author pulls you in to the story and you find yourself thinking back on the choices that you’ve made throughout your life.

Author:  Eoin McNamee
ISBN:  978-0-385-73731-9

Every chapter of this book is a surprise, and the romance is still one of the most beautiful I’ve ever read

Author:  Tess Gerritsen

ISBN:  978-0-345-51548-3

The plot of this story is fantastic!

Author:  Karin Slaughter

Not only has Ms. Slaughter written another wonderful tale of crime, she’s also brought back characters her fans love and admire

Author: Barry Nelson & Tom Schecker
ISBN:  978-1-4022-3744-7

As all of you have recognized by now, I’m completely (sometimes, brutally) honest with my reviews.  I also try to be as elegant with my writing as possible.  With this book, my honesty will stay intact.  However, my “class” may go right out the window.  Why?  Because…every page of this book was so funny I nearly WET MY PANTS!

This is a fantastic, heart-wrenching story that will strengthen your faith and belief, at a time when the world seems to be losing all hope.  Bravo!

Author:  Cath Crowley
ISBN:  978-0-375-86096-6

The author does a beautiful job of explaining different cultures, and the old adage that "the grass is always greener."

Author: Ted Michael
ISBN:  978-0-385-73580-3

I would say that this book is horrible because the characters show absolutely no emotion, heart, loyalty, or conscious of any kind.  But THAT’S what makes a great writer!

Author:  C.K. Kelly Martin

ISBN:  978-0-375-84588-8

This is a well-written YA that really does a great job of showing the difference between true love and sudden lust.  Not only are the relationships a good thing to study, but Mason’s relationships with his new family are also explored in a way that’s both funny and sweet.  This is truly an excellent read!

Author: Phillip Margolin

Every red herring imaginable makes it almost impossible for the reader to put this book down

Guys and gals – if you want to laugh out loud, and learn something at the same time, this is the book for you

Author: Alison Arngrim
ISBN:  978-0-06-196214-1

Let me begin by saying that this was a fantastic reminder of my father.  Yes, my father…God rest his soul.  My sister and I so loved Little House, but every time the theme song came on my father would grunt and roll his eyes at us.  In fact, he did that with Charlie’s Angels, too.  (Good thing he loved us J)

Author:  Melissa Senate
ISBN:  978-0-385-73303-8

This is a fantastic story for any teenager who wants to fit in (let’s just say, every single one of us, because we’ve all been teased about something over our high-school lifetimes)

Author: Alexander & Joseph Lagos
(Illustrated by Steve Walker and Oren Kramek)
ISBN:  978-0-375-85670-9

This is a fantastic middle-grade graphic novel that immediately grabs hold of the reader and doesn’t let go.  This extremely fast-paced, and eloquently-told tale was written by two brothers and illustrated by a Marvel comic veteran named Steve Walker, and Oren Kramek

Author: Alyssa B. Sheinmel
ISBN:  978-0-375-86182-6

Although the subject matter of this story is well thought out and offers YA's help and support when dealing with the loss of someone they love, the tale is very slow-moving and stagnant in many areas

Author: Marthe Jocelyn
ISBN:  978-0-385-73846-0

This novel of romance and difficult choices is set in the magical world of Victorian London

Author: Tom Leveen
ISBN:  978-0-375-86436-0

What transpires over these pages is a true work of art.  The author explores the depth of every character and shows us all that no matter what we think, or where we come from, we can all be a team if we would only take the time to sit down and find out more about each other as human beings

Author: Louis Sachar
ISBN:  978-0-385-73662-6

Even if you’re not a fan of bridge, that really doesn’t matter with this lovely story.  In the end, it’s a simple, engaging plot to show all the wonderful things the younger generation can learn from the one that’s come before.  Enjoy!

In reading this wonderfully written memoir, I felt like I’d found my “soul-sister.”  Not only do we share the same name, but we believe that our family is literally the backbone of who we are, and draw our strength and courage from the people who love us the most.

This is the third book in the YA series starring "Scarlett Wakefield," and it's just as good, if not better, than books I and II

Author: DiAnn Mills
ISBN:  978-1-4143-2051-9

This is a good story, but it also looks into the raw emotions that come from politics and policies.  The issues of border guards, immigration – legal and illegal citizenship – certainly appear in today’s headlines, and the author does well to “see” every side of this highly-debated issue

Author: DiAnn Mills

Who better, I ask you, than a Yankee like me who moved to Texas to review a book by a Texas-girl who moved to the East?  And, considering how absolutely “dead-on” hysterical this “survival story” was, I couldn’t be happier about how fate brought us together

I have to say, I was completely unsure of what to expect of a book with such a macabre title.  Would this be filled with the 'blood and guts' motif of serial killers?  Or would I be looking at the haunted ghosts of the past who swarm small town America and scare the “bejesus out of unsuspecting humans?

Author: Margo Lanagan

The story is told in great detail, making the reader turn every page whether out of anger, disgust, or the will to see what's next

The writing from this award-winning author is top-notch, but I found the story like walking through a thick puddle of mud – very slow, very time-consuming, and really, unfortunately, rather boring

This author has managed to put together a story that’s fun, exciting, and interesting with a main character who’s extremely sarcastic and brutally funny

There are some books that simply feel like they are made for a certain type of reader.  This book, I have to say, “called out” to me when I opened the battered box that looked like it had survived the fast-paced world of the postal service just to get into my hands

Author: Lara M. Zeises
ISBN:  978-0-385-73146-1

There are many good things about this book, especially the storyline of a young girl trying to love both of her parents, but having to give up the dream that they will someday be a "happy" family.

One of the greatest things about this book is the journal writing and footnotes that are added to almost every page

The sarcasm and wit in every sentence of this book is truly remarkable
