Danny Goodman, single father to a rebellious sixteen year old daughter, Abby, is not a very successful writer. He finds himself in financial difficulty and he cannot pay the tuition of his daughter's private school. Thus begins SUSPICION, a novel crafted by master writer Joseph Finder. His hero, Danny Goodman will find himself ensnared into a nail biting, vicious tangled web.

Abby's best friend's father, Gavin is very rich and offers a substantial loan to Danny which leads to an intricate and compelling plot and jolt-a-minute thriller which makes for a fast and entertaining read.

As soon as the money is in his bank account, Danny receives a visit from the DEA who uses him to get to Gavin and the Mexican Drug Cartel. Danny has an impossible choice: an indictment for accepting drug money or a treacherous undercover assignment helping the government cozy up to his new family friend. Danny is placed in a predicament wherein he can lose all his loved ones or go to prison for life.

We gasp at every page we turn. As Lisa Gardner wrote on the book cover of SUSPICION, "Lock yourself in a room with Suspicion and don't come out until you've read every last word. Completely original, emotionally satisfying, expertly twisted, and genuinely entertaining."

This is a thriller that you cannot put down until the grand finale. The menaces of torture and killing rings very true. Torture scenes are enough to give you the shivers. Thank goodness, it is only a story, not real life! At least we hope!

The characters are very much alive and believable. We hate the bad guys and we cheer the good guys! Driven by burning greed and ruthless bloodlust, the cartel and the DEA agents try to terminate Danny and his family and "friends". Will they succeed? Read on.....

The only criticism I would add is that I just find it hard to believe that in our computer driven era, you still need spies and counter spies to play around with encrypted information.

Find yourself a free evening and sit down to read this compelling thriller.
