“Silence can be a powerful tool in therapy or a complete waste of time. I was curious to see what emerged out of this particular silence, speculating at various points that Arundel would erupt in anger, intellectualize about the silence itself, or never speak the entire session.”
Just when therapist Tom Dashiel thinks he has a handle on his life, everything changes in a way he never could have seen coming. Tom is a fairly normal guy. Living in California and practicing psychotherapy for fifteen years, Tom feels that he has a good grip on his professional life. But when he is introduced to a new patient, he hears a tale that changes his perspective on everything.
Right away, it's obvious that George Arundel is not a run of the mill new patient. The man seems to have multiple personalities, and has clearly experienced a horrifying childhood that caused him to create these other identities. But Tom must piece together clues to work out this diagnosis, since George is not exactly forthcoming with details about his own life.
When George finally does open up, he tells Tom that he believes that he was born to find and “wake up” multiple different angels that have been brought back to earth in human bodies. Of course, Tom does not believe this at first but things begin to happen that make him wonder if George might just be telling the truth.
Soon, Tom becomes unwittingly embroiled in a conspiracy to hide a local serial killer and must get to the heart of the mystery that has suddenly taken center stage in his life.
Murder For Liar, is a book that just feels new. It feels unlike any other book you've ever read. I truly enjoyed this novel and couldn't put it down once I started reading it! This book was perfection!
