A thrilling read from Shelly Frome that left my hair standing on end and goosebumps all over my arms!

Shadow of the Gypsy is about a young man who witnessed something that he shouldn't have, and who spends the next two decades paying for it. Josh Bartlett is a 30-something man living in the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina when his past finally catches up to him.

See, as a young boy, he had a different name and a different identity altogether. Back then, Josh was known as Sonny Korda and he was a member of a community of Romany people who had moved to the United States from Russia. But after witnessing a murder, Josh was sent away to a boarding school in another state to avoid the man who committed the crime, Zharko.

From then on, Josh stays away, eventually graduating and moving to North Carolina to work as a reporter. But, since you can't spend your life avoiding your past, Zharko eventually finds Josh.

At first, Josh thinks that he is just seeing things. After living most of his life terrified of Zharko, seeing the man around his small town has to be a hallucination, right? But all too soon, Josh realizes that Zharko really has found him, and what's worse, the man has a favor that he would like Josh to do for him. Josh will have to put aside his morals to protect the people that he loves and the life that he has created for himself-- and he has to do it all before he has a chance to think twice.

Shadow of the Gypsy is a tale of murder, secrets, love and loss and all of it is as captivating as any great mystery story one would want. Be prepared for a roller coaster ride unlike any other!
