A truly dazzling adventure through a vivid world! The Reclaimed Kingdom is high action, fantasy and fun. It was written with young adults in mind but it certainly held this middle-aged adult’s attention.

Dru is a seventeen-year-old girl living in the fictional kingdom of D'Land, where she fights along side a group of outlaws called the Band of Brothers. The Brothers do not normally take in girls, but masquerading as a boy, Dru and the group are unstoppable in their quest to rob the rich and give to the poor.

That is, until one day when they happen to swindle a carriage that belongs to the King and Queen of D'Land, with the Prince inside. Now parts of Dru's past that she would rather be kept secret are being dredged up and her biggest secret-- the fact that she is a Syphon, a person with the supernatural ability to draw from other peoples emotions-- is in danger of being exposed to everyone in her life.

With everything that she loves on the line, will Dru be able to keep her secrets hidden? Or will revealing them bring about the change that is needed to save D'Land from the evil Queen Ebbigal and bring justice to all? Of course, you'll have to read the book yourself to find out the answers to those questions, and I highly recommend that you do!

This is the first in a series that I can only assume will be just as fun and exciting as the first book. Dru is a terrific main character. Equal parts brave, witty and kind while still being vulnerable. I loved every scene between her and the prince, Dodge.

The author, Dana Claire has a wonderful talent for creating very intriguing atmospheres and plot. 'The Reclaimed Kingdom' is just the kind of page-turner to start off a great summer reading list and I recommend that you add it today!
