Today, Bookpleasures.com is pleased to have as our guest, Walter E. Jacobson M.D author of Einstein's Cosmic Journey: A Biographical Fantasy of Quantum Proportions and Forgive To Win!: End Self-Sabotage. Get Everything You Want.

Good day Dr. Jacobson and thanks for participating in our interview

Norm:

Please tell our readers a little bit about your personal and professional background.

Dr. Jacobson:

I am a board-certified psychiatrist and have been practicing in the Los Angeles area since 1999. My specialty is cognitive therapy. I also practice Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Past Life Regression Therapy. I am also a Mastery of Life Mentor, providing people with cognitive tools and spiritual techniques for happiness, physical well-being and material success. Personally, my interests include movies, surfing, horseback riding, tennis, writing, and my chihuahua, Gracie.

Norm:

What served as the primary inspiration for Einstein's Cosmic Journey: A Biographical Fantasy of Quantum Proportions?

Dr. Jacobson:

Einstein's humanistic ideals and his passion for truth inspired me to write about him.

Norm:

As you are a Psychiatrist, if you had the privilege of having Albert Einstein as a patient, briefly, how would you have dealt with him and what aspect of his psyche would have interested you?

Dr. Jacobson:

I believe he may have harbored guilt over choices he made in the past, which may have caused him to have some degree of sadness and angst. I would have engaged him in cognitive therapy to help him let go of the past, be in the now, and appreciate that all the wonderful things he did for humanity far outweighed the choices he regretted.

Norm:

What purpose do you believe Einstein's Cosmic Journey serves and what matters to you about the story? As a follow up, what would you say is the best reason to recommend someone to read the book?

Dr. Jacobson:

Hopefully, the story will be an entertaining, thought provoking journey for the reader that offers a perspective on Einstein that most people are unaware of. Hopefully, the story will open the mind of the reader to alternative ways of looking at reality. The story touches upon topics such as multiple realities, synchronicity, the I-Ching, near death experiences and journeys out of the body. What matters most to me about the story are Einstein's perspectives on nationalism, pacifism, commercialism and scientific pursuits in service to humanity.

Norm:

What was the most difficult part of writing Einstein's Cosmic Journey and where did you get your information or ideas for the book?

Dr. Jacobson:

The most difficult part of writing this book was coming up with a fictional story that could integrate and resolve all the complex issues in his life. Using the device of a brain augmenting device that could fold time and space, bringing 76 year old Einstein face-to-face with his 40 year old self, and then having the two Einsteins talk to each other and help each other resolve their specific issues at those specific times in their lives was quite a challenge.

Much of the factual information and verbatim quotes came from my reading biographies about Einstein. Other ideas in the book that were woven into the historical truths came from my readings on quantum physics, metaphysics, and mysticism.

Norm:

Does your writing career ever conflict with your career as a Psychiatrist?

Dr. Jacobson:

Yes. Having a full time practice doesn't give me a lot of time to write.

Norm:

How has your environment/upbringing colored your writing?

Dr. Jacobson:

My parents were humanists, concerned about morality, truth and the betterment of mankind. They were open-minded and always encouraged me to pursue a wide range of interests. I believe it is because of them that my writing has always had a component of teaching and healing.

Norm:

Do you worry about the human race?

Dr. Jacobson:

I do. There is a large number of people who are filled with judgment, anger, and hatred. This perpetuates aggression, violence and war. There is a large number of people who are ignorant, close minded and easily manipulated by the opinions of others. This, too, perpetuates a devolution rather than an evolution of consciousness. Additionally, there is a large number of people who are consumed with selfishness and greed. Survival of the human race will require a greater degree of generosity, sharing and caring than now exists.

Norm:

Do you feel that writers, regardless of genre owe something to readers, if not, why not, if so, why and what would that be?

Dr. Jacobson:

I do believe that it is the responsibility of writers not simply to entertain but also to express a serious theme for people to contemplate, ideas that people can learn and grow from.

Norm:

How can readers find out more about you and your books?

Dr. Jacobson:

They can go to my WEBSITE

Norm:

As this interview draws to a close what one question would you have liked me to ask you? Please share your answer.

Dr. Jacobson:

I think you asked great questions and all the right questions. I can think of no question I would have liked you to ask. But if I were to come up with a question you didn't ask, how about this: What would you ask of those who read your book? My answer is this: If you like the book, please write as positive a review as you possibly can on Amazon, and please inform those in your social networks about the book, suggesting that they consider purchasing it for themselves.

Norm:

Thanks once again and good luck with all of your future endeavors
