Eat That Frog is intended to boost student productivity and output via prioritizing your actions. Frog is used metaphorically. The authors say that “Your Frog is your biggest, most important task, the one you are most likely to procrastinate on if you don’t do something about it.” (2020, p.3)

If you find yourself with two important tasks to complete Tracey and Leinberger say “…start with the biggest, hardest, and most important task first.” (2020, p.4) They say that if you learn this process early on it will assist you throughout your life.

According to Tracey and Leinberger there are three tenants to success. Those are: self-esteem, personal responsibility, and setting goals.

Regarding self-esteem, “When you have courage and determination, you approach life and your dreams convinced of your ability to achieve anything you put your mind to.” (2020, p.11) About taking responsibility for your actions and decisions they state the following. “Taking responsibility is hard and requires immense self-discipline, but results incredibly powerful rewards.” (p.23) Setting goals in an intricate part of mastering the Frog. “Nothing will propel you toward success faster than the practice of having clear, written goals. (p.25)

The next section of this book delves into time management. Tracey and Leinberger invite the students to select a couple of activities to try for a week to which they add, “…taking action immediately and decisively is one of the most important skills you will need to be successful.” (2020, p,33)

Step one in this entire process is determining what you wish to achieve. “The greater clarity you have regarding what you want and the steps you will have to take to achieve it, the easier it will be for you to overcome procrastination.” (2020, p.35)

By planning everything at least a day in advance you can move forward with purpose. “The very act of thinking and planning unlocks your mental powers, triggers your creativity, and increases your mental and physical energies. “ (2020, p.43)

Managing your time effectively is critical to your success too. The authors suggest using a planner to assist in managing your time. They say that time planners “…can be one of the most powerful personal productivity tools of all.” (2020, p.51)
