From New Year's, to Valentine's Day, Easter, The Fourth of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas, every holiday has a story and every story has a dark theme. Some of the stories follow supernatural creatures and some are tales about regular human beings who have, for whatever reason, decided to give into their darker urges.

One of the most dramatic stories in the collection, 'The Resurrection' takes place on Easter and centers around a preacher who has been carrying on an extra-marital affair with a woman in his congregation. Soon, he begins finding pieces of her body in Easter eggs hidden all around town, as well as sinister notes addressed to himself. For the title story 'The Feast,' the reader is taken on a Thanksgiving trip with a young couple and their four-year-old son. After a car accident knocks both parents’ unconscious, their child is found wandering in the woods alone by a family of strangers who may or may not have good intentions.

This was a very interesting anthology and the idea behind it was one of the most creative that I've seen in a long while. The idea of a collection of stories revolving around holidays that aren't generally thought of as being dark or scary was genius. I have never considered celebrations like Valentine's Day or Christmas to be capable of providing good fodder for horror but David Vorhees proved me wrong. An excellent collection of short stories!  If you're a fan of horror, check this one out!

He worked various factory jobs and attended the University of Phoenix online for a degree in arts with a focus in journalism.
