A wonderful children’s book. It
is the story of Abe, a homeless man. Abe is a very kind man,
and this is a great way to teach children that you don’t have to be
a bad person to end up on the streets. Abe’s adventure takes
us through one day in his life where he is fortunate to find food,
shelter, money, warmth, and he shares it all with others, feeling
happy that he has helped them. In the end Abe’s kindness is
rewarded in an unexpected way. This book can be used to teach
children the benefits of helping others who are less fortunate.
Abe is a character who thinks of others before himself, setting a
good example for children.
The illustrations are fabulous and I like the way practically every scene in the story is shown in a picture. The pictures almost tell the story on their own without words, so even a child who can't yet read will be able to follow along by 'seeing' the story unfold. This would make a great gift for a child.
