David Meerman Scott’s blog for some time. I even have an
Outlook task set so that I can remember to have my once a week look.
As such, you won’t be that surprised that I would be a fan of his
latest book, World Wide Rave: Creating Triggers that Get
Millions of People to Spread Your Ideas and Share Your Stories.
For all of us who look to promote ourselves on the web better, and
that should be everyone who isn’t driving an ice cream truck –
and some of these guys could use an idea or two – this book is an
excellent starting place. Get your education here!

I found myself at a quandary when reading Paul Damien’s Help!:
Debunking the Outrageous Claims of Self-help Gurus. First of all, I
wanted to be totally open to what Paul Damien had to say. I have read
numerous books on The Secret and the Law of Attraction in the past
few years and let me say beforehand that I have read books from the
“gurus” and from those who took looks into the industry,
movement, or whatever other label might fit it. And I must say that
although Paul Damien’s book might not have been the first to
lambaste these gurus, it was the first book that I had the
opportunity to read through and through.

Contrary to what one might think from reading the cover of the
book, it would be wrong to say that R. Albert Mohler Jr.’s
book, Desire and Deceit: The Real Cost of the New Sexual
Tolerance, is a “right jab” from the evangelical side of the
political spectrum. It would also be wrong to categorize Mohler as
preaching to the choir, which he actually is but that isn’t the
whole story either. Albert Mohler’s book is much more of an
exercise in educating the religious right so that they will have
their own ammunition to fight moral sexual degradation. It is an
educational lecture and a pep talk, if you will.
