There are a few main characters for this fun novel. Luc Ponti is the main character. He is a sixteen year old athlete who lives in Palo Alto, California with his family. Luc hopes to become a basketball star and his future looks quite bright until he has a fall on the court that literally changes his life.

Luc codes while in the hospital and from that moment forward he possesses special psychic abilities that he struggles to understand and use. For instance, he can travel back and forward in time and see what incidents are going to occur before they actually happen, he can read minds, and much more. Some of these skills have made him an even better athlete because he can now anticipate the moves of the other players on the court and intercede.

Luc is ultimately approached by the CIA to help them resolve some international acts of terror. They offer to pay him more money than he can fathom which will allow him to fund his college quest and then some. Because he is young and naïve he gets mixed up in some things for the CIA that he ought not be involved in. How can he get out of this gracefully?

His best friend and love interest, Bella, becomes his confidant. She cannot fathom what he is going through, but she is ready and willing to assist any way she can.

One day while Luc and Bella are hiking and talking they run into a group of rough guys who intend to push them around. Luc takes action when Bella is being threatened by pushing a guy with incredible force out of the way. The others are awe stricken. One of the group, Eric, has been badly hurt my Luc’s unharnessed new powers. Bella is shaken and astonished. They call 911 and Eric is taken to the hospital where he codes too. Eventually, Luc finds the confidence to go visit this young man in the hospital where they talk about NDE’s and psychic skills. They become the most unlikely of friends because they share this new psychic bond. Eric’s life is changed in good ways. He no longer acts as a thug.

The CIA learns that Luc has been talking about their programs with people he is not supposed to speak to. They want revenge. They go out of their way to try to harm people close to Luc and Bella is one. Can she survive? Will Luc and Eric join forces and effectuate good?

I really enjoyed this book and if you like anything that is the slightest bit paranormal I think you will too.
