Wendell Blackmon is married to Sand Valley’s judge Reva Blackmon. She is essentially the essence of his world and the woman who has always insisted they’ve known each other for all eternity. Reva came from humble beginnings and at a very young age was the unfortunate victim of a horrific accident which left her without her lower right leg.

She learnt to cope with her disability and was eventually given the use of a wooden leg - it was a good job nobody had told her its previous owner ended up dead after being savagely beaten over the head with the leg. As if Reva’s disability wasn’t enough to cope with she had to learn to get on with life after learning the news her mother was slipping away from life and would soon be dead.
