Norm: Good day Naveen and thanks for participating in our interview.

How did you get to be where you are in your life today?

Naveen: I have always been a big dreamer - constantly imagining the world that it can be rather than focusing on the world as it is. I try to focus on what the world can be and what’s possible and think about the possibilities of  abundance rather than scarcity. This mindset has seen me through all of my ideas, companies and successes.

Norm: What do you consider to be your greatest success (or successes) so far in your various careers?

Naveen: My biggest accomplishments will always be my children - Ankur, Priyanka, and Neil - they are all working on their own moonshots and ideas and I am so proud and excited to see what’s next for them.

Norm: How many times in your career have you experienced rejection? How did they shape you?

Naveen: I changed my mindset a long time ago, I stopped looking for approval from others and I’m confident in myself and my ideas. With this mindset, I view what may be considered rejections as an opportunity to change my pitch or strategy to be sure I am able to sell an idea the next chance I have.

Norm: What inspires you and could you tell us about people or books you have read that have inspired you to embark on your various careers?

Naveen: I am inspired by life - I’m always trying to learn new things from everyone I meet. A few businessmen that have inspired me throughout the years include those have has successes in taking their own moonshots - including Bill Gates, Richard Branson and Jeff Bezos - all have really taken on an industry and changed it for, what I believe, the better and for good.

Norm: Do you worry about the human race?

Naveen: Of course, we all worry about the human race. I’m worried about all humans as we’re stuck on one giant spaceship we call Earth, which we may not have forever. I’m worried that our ignorance as humans may be our downfall - our fear of the unknown will work against us. But I also believe that we’re living in a great time with so many great technologies and minds, I am hopeful to see where the human race is headed next, which may be away from Earth.

Norm: Do you believe that most business people lack imagination and if so, why? As a follow-up, I read where you believe curiosity will save the world, would you care to explain?

Naveen: I believe there are many great business people that have imaginations far and wide and they will lead us to the possibilities of the future. Yes, those that are curious enough to try to figure out innovative ways to solve our biggest problems will save us. Those that don’t see the sky as the limit and will reach beyond it and think of the infinite possibilities of our imaginations - they will save the human race.

Norm: What advice can you give aspiring entrepreneurs that you wished you had received, or that you wished you would have listened to?

Naveen: Dream so big that people think you're crazy and never be afraid to fail because every idea may not work and an idea that does not work is simply a stepping stone to a different idea and a better idea that can lead to success.

Norm: What is Viome, what is your vision and mission for its creation?

Naveen: Viome is the first at home microbiome testing kit that provides unparalleled visibility into the ecosystem of the human body to prevent chronic illness. It is the only company to be able to detect the nutrients and toxins being produced by the microbiome and give personalized recommendations of nutrients to heal the gut and prevent chronic conditions. Viome is dedicated to creating a path to a disease-free future—a future where illness is elective.

Norm: What is Moon Express and what inspired you to create it? What do you hope to accomplish with it?

Naveen: Moon Express is a privately funded commercial space company, the only private company with permission from the White House to go to the Moon. At Moon Express, we aim to redefine the possible by expanding Earth’s economic and social sphere to our 8th continent, the Moon.

Norm: What motivated you to write Moonshots: Creating a World of Abundance?

Naveen: I wanted to impart the knowledge that I’ve learned throughout the years, especially for my children. I want them to learn from it and know that this book is about possibilities, written for every entrepreneur and anyone that believes they can take their own moonshot.

Norm: Could you briefly tell our readers a little about the book?

Naveen: Moonshots, I share insights into the mindsets and thought processes of successful entrepreneurs who are working to enable a ‘life without limits’ and illustrate the fascinating ways that curiosity, imagination and radical possibility combine with the new technologies we have access to adjust our path and set our sights on a greater, abundant future.

Norm: What do you hope will be the everlasting thoughts for readers who finish your book?

Naveen: I’d like them to believe ‘Everything is possible if you can imagine it building a mindset of abundance and reach beyond the current status quo - this will allow us to solve every global challenge.’

Norm: What was the most difficult part of writing this book and what did you enjoy most about writing this book?

Naveen: The most difficult part of writing was finding the time to not only think about everything I wanted to include, but organizing all of it coherently and in the most effective way for consumption. The most enjoyable part was the thought that eventually the people who read this may come away inspired to take their own moonshot and change the world.

Norm: Where can our readers find out more about you and Moonshots: Creating a World of Abundance?

Naveen: Moonshots can be ordered on Amazon. You can find me on Twitter and on my WEBSITE.

Norm: Thanks once again and good luck with all of your future endeavors.
