This book is very well written.

It conforms to the by now ubiquitous pattern  of most DIY (do it yourself) e-books that are flooding the market on the Internet today and are geared to selling relevant information in as few words as possible. In this case, the author addresses  a very major problem that plagues modern society, that of reducing stress and the resultant detoxification and the attendant weight loss that ensues from the use of essential oils.

The author starts off by giving a very plausible explanation of how the use of essential oils contributes to weight loss. Using the fact that the “sense of olfaction is connected to the emotional center of the brain”, she postulates that the sense of emotional security and variety seeking that many seek from junk food, can be  bypassed by sniffing the essential oils, thus acting as a control over binge eating.

Next, the author mentions the essential oils that are commonly used for the purpose of weight loss  and provides specific instructions on how to use  some of the most effective oils for this purpose.  Some of the most effective oils are peppermint, ginger, grapefruit, bergamot, cinnamon and lemon.

After this, the author presents essential oil recipes  to curb appetite. These recipes are combinations of oils which are to be inhaled in a diffuser, in a bath, a foot lotion and even a few edible snacks (using food grade oils). This is followed by a number of slimming recipes, recipes to kickstart metabolism, massage oils and anti cellulite recipes and tonics. Finally, the author addresses the root cause of stress-bingeing with prescriptions for a massage oil to combat depression, some anti anxiety preparations, stress free massage oils, a blend mixture for a broken heart and a cure for constipation.

It is clear that this book is geared to inspire the reader to incorporate the use of essential oils into his/her lifestyle. The author seems very well grounded in the subject and her virtuosity shines forth. The writing is crisp and concise, just the way most young people want their e-books, no frills please. I personally am a little old-fashioned and would have liked a more personal touch, involving some individual anecdotes and case studies.

This is a book that is chock full of information that could be very valuable, especially for the increasing number of those people who have not been helped by modern medicine and are looking for safer alternatives.

Warmly recommended.
