“Some days there won’t be a song in your heart. Sing anyway.”  ~Emory Austin (quote from the book.)

Inkspirations for Women authored by Marci Shimoff, with original art by Judy Clement Wall, is a 8” x 11” (approximate) paperback book filled with inspiring quotes and artwork coloring pages. It promotes creativity, relaxation, and a peaceful outlook.

This is much more than a coloring book. It opens with information pages, and several examples of colored designs. It marks the benefits of coloring, the meaning of mandalas, the meaning of colors, and how to choose and harmonize your colors. There’s also a section in the back of the book that instructs readers how to make their own mandalas.

The best thing to hold onto in life is each other.”  ~Audrey Hepburn (quote from the book.)

There are quotes on the left pages and drawings on the right. It took all of about five seconds to suck me in and get my creative juices flowing. The quotes do just what they’re supposed to do—inspire! (And inkspire.) And the drawings are beautiful, detailed, and worthy of framing.  The designs range from castles, hot air balloons, and mermaids to more subdued themes of nature—animals, birds, flowers, and butterflies. There are several intricate mandalas as well.

I found it very interesting that Marci Shimoff  is a best-selling author, and an expert on happiness, success, and unconditional love. What a wonderful compilation of qualities to be expert at! Co-author and artist Judy Clement Wall’s biography is also inspiring.  She is a gifted artist with an impressive trove of drawings and love-inspired projects.

Life is a daring adventure or nothing at all.”  ~Helen Keller (quote from the book.)

This seventy-two-page book is inspirational, uplifting, and empowering. The thirty coloring pages provide invaluable hours of entertainment. Coloring can be stimulating and relaxing at the same time—exercising the right-brain, while exorcising the left-brain.

I’m inspired and uplifted by this book and its lovely, detailed coloring pages. I really can’t think of one single thing I’d change. It’s as if it was created personally for me.

With a beautiful mix of inspirational quotes and awe-inspiring drawings in one place, this is my kind of book. The pages are sturdy, with drawings on one said and quotes on the other, and no bleed-through to the backside of the page. Although some coloring books for adults aren’t suitable for crayons, due to the intricate designs, this one is. I’ve used crayons, coloring pencils, and gel pens, and they look gorgeous (if I say so myself.)

I’m happy to learn there are a slew of other Inkspirations coloring books! These books, by multiple different authors, make a lovely gift for anyone who is going through trials in their lives, or just a thoughtful offering for any creative soul.
