Praying for your husband will do more than impact your husband’s life: it will impact your heart as well. Don’t be surprised if God stirs a love for your husband that is stronger, deeper, and more precious than ever before,” Sharon Jaynes writes in her book, Praying for Your Husband from Head to Toe.

At three hundred and twenty pages, this paperback book is targeted toward married women who want to pray for their husbands while also establishing a closer relationship to God. Using mainly the New International Version of the Bible, the AMP, NAS, NCV, NKJV, and NLT versions are also used in this thirty-day devotional book.

Divided into three sections, part one explains how to use the book involving the power and purpose of prayer along with “landmarks” of the body as they relate to our husbands’ day-to-day activities.

Part two is the main portion of the book that covers over one hundred and sixty pages of thirty days of devotions that are five to six pages each, mentioning fifteen to sixteen “landmark” topics including prayers and Bible verses.

The final section has information regarding praying for a husband’s salvation, fatherhood, and healing along with reflection, a prayer dare, acknowledgements, and notes. The ending has the author’s biography along with three other authored books.

With the main goal being to daily pray to God for our husbands, the body “landmarks” are his mind, eyes, ears, mouth, neck, shoulders, heart, back, arms, hands, ring finger, side, sexuality, legs, knees, and feet. Each topic lists a Bible verse and one to two sentence prayer.

Two examples of these “landmarks” are “His Neck” with the Psalm 119:66 listed as “Teach me knowledge and good judgment, for I believe in your commands.” The prayer states: God of all wisdom, teach my husband knowledge and good judgment, so that he will make decisions that honor and glorify You.

The second example is “His Legs” with the Bible verse “If sinners entice you, do not give in to them,” from Proverbs 1:10. The prayer is “If anyone tries to entice or tempt my husband to sin, give him the courage and confidence to stand firm in his faith and walk away.”

This devotional is written in a quick format for fast reading and praying in addition to studying the Word. The reader can easily insert her name instead of her husband’s to apply the verses and prayers too.
