The Gypsy Morph is the third book in Terry Brook's trilogy of The Genesis of Shannara.  It all starts with Armageddon's Children, telling the tale of how the world is destroyed by foolish adults who allowed the world to fall apart and unknowingly had the demons take over.

 It continues in the second book with The Elves of Cintra where two Knights of the Word are sent out to complete a quest each given by The Lady.  The gypsy morph is discovered and a new adventure begins.

 In the third and final book, the Gypsy Morph, Logan Tom and Angel Perez along with the Gypsy Morph and the people he must save, go on an adventure to start a new life amid the ashes of the old.

 The Gypsy Morph is the continuation of Terry Brooks trilogy.  The first page draws you right back into the story immediately as if you had never left. 

The main character, the Gypsy Morph Hawk, is conflicted because although he knows that he is to save everyone and bring them all to a place of safety, he doesn't know quite how to do that.  He is told that he would just "know", but Hawk seems unsure.  He wants to make sure he does what he is supposed to do without imbedding false hope.  The two Knights of the Word, Logan and Angel, have their own personal struggles they must endure.

The main plot is clear and believable although it reminds me of the biblical story of Moses leading his people to the promised land.  Hawk and his people are being pursued by demons and trying to make a safe haven for themselves before the world gets worse, as it is predicted.  He is aided by the two Knights of the Word and have to rely on his own power, which is just being discovered by Hawk.

The setting is very descriptive and it keeps the reader at the time and place of the characters.  The story is written in modern day, after the end of the world as we know it.  Most of the people are gone and many of the remaining survivors happen to be children of the aftermath and adults who have contracted severe diseases from the contaminated air and water. 

The best thing about this fantasy is that it relates to everyone.  The only element of true fantasy in this book is the representation of the elves otherwise, it brings the realism of people from the every day trying to survive under their new circumstances.

The characters in the story come alive and everyone has his or her own personality.  The two Knights of the Word followed the same powerful entity but they each had his or her demon to face.  Hawk and the other children stand out in their own identities and fears.  Even the demons had their own hierarchy.

The dialogue is consistent with the story and Terry Brooks does not make the children talk as if they were small adults.  The dialogue is appropriate for their ages, education and circumstances as some children did not have the opportunity to go to school.

The story is written in several points of view but the author doesn't confuse them.  You have the point of view of each of the Knights of the Word, the point of view of the two main elven characters – Kirisin and Simralin, Hawk and his followers as well as the main demon Findo Gask.  It makes the story very interesting to see the different viewpoints.

The author did a great job in showing the story through words and description as opposed to telling us his story.  The reader is pulled into the story and will have trouble letting go.

The Gypsy Morph is another amazing book of Terry Brooks.  He takes the fantasy adventure and brings it to new levels of excitement and he draws you into each character.  He has always managed to leave you wanting more and this book does not disappoint.
