I acknowledged my sin unto Thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin,” is a Bible verse from Psalms 32 that is brought to memory when reading Perry Perrett’s novel, Twisted Wolf.

At three hundred and seventy-five pages, this paperback book has black and purple photograph of the White House on the front jacket cover. The back has several paragraphs about the book along with a short author biography. Although there is no profanity or overt sex scenes, the topics of adultery, children out of wedlock, war and combat are discussed in detail so may be targeted for mature Christian men and women. This reader wishes all pronouns related to God were capitalized for reverence.

Josh Davis is an American Army Lieutenant from Big Horn, Montana who loves his country as he does two international tours of duty. On the first tour, he receives the Distinguished Service Cross for saving his men while destroying an Iranian underground command center. While being injured in his second tour, he is honored for the Congressional Medal of Honor for killing an Iranian general.

After returning to the States, he befriends the President’s son while visiting the White House and after a few years, falls in love and marries the President’s daughter. However, the Commander in Chief is jealous of his son-in-law’s fame, success and Christian views.

Decades later, Josh decides to run for United States President but his main opposition is his own father-in-law, attempting a second term; but the old man is gunned down with his son, sealing Davis’s fate to be the leader of America.

While in office, not only does Davis try to implement a Middle East Peace Pact, but the Hausberg Group’s name comes up more than once. While vacationing at Martha’s Vineyard, Josh falls from grace and has a one night stand with a woman, who later claims she is pregnant with his child. When her SEAL husband is ambushed in Iran months later, the President is not only accused of adultery but also the husband’s murder.

Will Josh’s wife stick by his side no matter what? Will the President be impeached? Or was there someone behind the last few months’ problems that affected the President politically and personally?  But most of all, will Josh finally ask God’s forgiveness and come clean and tell the truth about his affair?

With a slow start the first hundred pages and often campy and corny dialogue, this tome is like a current David and Bathsheba story, complete with the loyal Uriah. However, not all the blame goes to the main perpetrator as one realizes all sin must be confessed for total forgiveness by God.
