You’ll notice that as you start losing weight, you automatically begin to incorporate and make healthier choices,” Pamela Miles states in her book, Calorie Confusion – Reaching Your Goal Step-by-Step.

In Kindle format, this one hundred and one page instructional manual is in conjunction with the author’s online website, as it assists to help one lose weight over a twenty week period. It appears to be geared for women, especially those over the age of forty but men and children could adapt to the program that promotes no food restrictions, no special food combinations and no special eating times.

While using the online “calorie calculator,” one can lose weight by virtually eating whatever they want by staying in line with the number of calories allotted for that day. Every Monday, one goes online and enters in data which gives them their daily calorie intake which varies from day to day for a full week, thus confusing the body and metabolism. 

With each week spelled out on what to do online, the book also details an exercise program that starts the second week with two days of thirty minute aerobics. As each week progresses, the time is increased, strength training is added along with switching muscle grouping to where one ends up exercising five days a week, from forty-five minutes to an hour of combined aerobics and weight lifting.

Although there is no actual breakdown of calorie counting in this book and this reviewer did not access the online website, one has to keep a daily journal of all food eaten that is presumably entered into the online program to count calories. With the purpose of a weeks’ worth of calories spread over seven days, the daily count is constantly changing, forcing the body to lose weight.

Among the book’s weekly chapters, there are sections on party, vacation and holiday eating, portion visualization, monthly “day off” splurging, temptations, motivators, women’s monthly cycles, and emotional eating. There are a few sections on actual food choices promoting yogurt, fruits such as kiwi, papaya, blueberries, mangos, peaches and strawberries, eggs and dark chocolate.

With the plethora of diets that are time consuming in writing in a journal and counting calories, this computer program may assist in keeping track more quickly but still will take effort and persistence online, in eating and in exercising to lose and keep of weight permanently.
