Imagine going on an expedition to rediscover Noah’s Ark.

Henri Nissen invites you to embark on an unforgettable journey. A media consultant, journalist, and author of eleven books, Nissen has traveled extensively, yet for more than a decade, he has passionately set his sights on visiting the mountains of Ararat in Turkey in the hopes of finding the one artifact that would be the most astounding discovery in the history of mankind: the elusive ark described in the Holy Bible and many other ancient literary sources as having been built and used by Noah and his sons during a global apocalypse. With modern-day man setting their sights on a second a final apocalypse, Nissen’s story takes on an entirely new light.

Skeptics will always scoff at any suggestion of a worldwide flood that destroyed all living things except for those chosen few, yet the intriguing account of just such an event has persisted throughout the ages. Since the Holy Bible emphatically states in Genesis 8:4 (New International Version), “. . . and on the seventeenth day of the seventh month the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat . . . .” history hunters have focused on that general region—not a specific mountain—in their search for the Holy Grail of Antiquities. In more recent decades, various treks to the snow-capped, dormant volcanic cone spread across two peaks: Greater Ararat (the highest peak in Turkey, and the entire Armenian plateau with an elevation of 5,137 m/16,854 ft) and Lesser Ararat (with an elevation of 3,896 m/12,782 ft).

They found something.

In his new book, Henri Nissen retraces the history of modern man’s search for Noah’s Ark. Spurred on by persistent tales from a variety of sources, various groups of people have headed expeditions into the frozen, inhospitable peaks. Nissen records with fascinating detail their tales of finding a man-made structure in the shape of a boat embedded in ice.

The search for Noah’s Ark reached a fever pitch in 2009, when a Chinese-Kurdish research team headed for the nearly unreachable heights to uncover a large wooden structure in a lava cave covered year round by ice. They managed to maneuver through inside the structure and took photographs of the interior of seven chambers, but were unable to venture further because the remains are completely embedded in impenetrable ice. Nissen’s book documents every step of their astounding discovery, complete with jaw-dropping photographs that verify their revelations.

Unfortunately, the most recent team did not find irrefutable proof that the structure found is Noahs’ ark, but the body of evidence the author compiles in this book leaves the reader virtually certain. The author also records how the media has been oddly silent about this find, which if it is genuine, would shake the conventional view of prehistoric times and generally accepted theories of evolution underlying much of modern science.

For history buffs, Bible believers, and even skeptics, Noah’s Ark Ancient Accounts and New Discoveries stands as the ultimate summary of all things related to the story of Noah’s Ark, real or rumor, and all efforts to scale the mountains of Ararat and find the mysterious relic. Splendidly produced in hard back by Scandinavia Publishing House, Copenhagen and printed in China, the book spreads out 41 chapters in three sections, with perfectly written text embellished with hundreds of spellbinding photographs and illustrations. The book is not only a page turner, but a keeper. You will want this book for your own family library and to gift this book to others.

Nissen may not have yet achieved an irrefutable rediscovery of Noah’s Ark, but he has accomplished the creation of a deeply detailed, superbly researched, and marvelously manufactured literary artifact.
