A Boy Called Duct Tape is one of the best books I have read in a very long time, and I read about a book a week! I loved this book and read it in only a couple of days, sneaking time at school to find out what would happen next. The author has developed a great character and the story kept me going to the very end. I could not wait to find out what would happen next.

Pablo is the main character, and the kids at school call him Duct Tape because he uses duct tape to keep his old and worn shoes from falling apart. The story is a real adventure, involving Pablo, his sister Pia, and their cousin Kiki. The three find a gold coin and, convinced that it must have come from a secret treasure, they set off to find the missing stash. Their imaginations keep them moving along on their adventure, but real life keeps making things even more interesting.

I didn’t know how the book would end until the very last pages, and more importantly I really wanted to! The book is well written, the characters became very real to me, and the story kept me up turning pages when I was supposed to be asleep and getting ready for the next day’s school.

As a middle school kid myself, I can assure you that almost any middle schooler will love this book.
