If eighty nine percent of Germans reject the Unites States government’s official story of September 11, 2001, what percent do Americans believe? Author Mark H. Gaffney dissects several aspects of that tragic day in U.S. history in his book Black 9/1: Money, Motive and Technology.

This two hundred and seventy seven page soft bound book has a black cover with a muted photograph of the World Trade Towers in smoke on the front and two paragraphs about the book content on the back along with small photographs and biographies of the author and writer of the foreword and afterword. Inside it also contains a Publisher’s Foreword, Acknowledgements, Contents, Foreword, Prologue, Epilogue and Afterword along with a thirty eight page Appendices and six page Index. There are several black and white chapter photographs, charts, and document copies with no noticeable grammatical or typographical errors.

Black 9/11 is broken down into three main themes: the money behind it, the places destroyed and the technology used. It is an attempt at deciphering the behind-the-scenes events prior, during and after 9/11 in relationship to money, banks, insurance companies, and foreign countries involving Wall Street, the CIA and the U.S. Government. Going back as far as the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-95 through World War II, Russia and into the search for Osama bin Laden, Gaffney tries to connect the dots of greed, wealth, buried gold and power that is sought out, hidden, covered up and manipulated. Names from CEO of AIG Maurice Greenberg, CIA George Tenet, and President H.W. Bush to Hani Hanjour, one of the poorly trained hijacker pilots are discussed in their link to the catastrophe.

Besides extensively following the money made, profited and even lost, Gaffney explains his theory that the Pentagon was targeted specifically to eliminate documentation in the U.S. Accounting Office or the Office of Naval Intelligence, which, in relationship to the building itself, is hard to approach via aircraft by an unseasoned pilot. He concludes the insurance company AIG and its connected and similar insurance businesses on the ninety fifth and six floor of the North Tower of the World Trade Center had to be eliminated also to get rid of the paper trail of making unfound millions if not billions in profit by specific individuals. He debates the money angle through the spark in trades on the Stock Market right before and days after the tragedy and backs it up with prior historical connections, world events and ongoing increased companies’ holdings. He also examines if a GPS remote control system could have been used, over taking and controlling the hijacked airplanes and if a possible drone took down the plane that crashed in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

In reading Black 9/11 one would think such atrocities could never happen, especially here in America, land of the free. But the topic obviously should be researched further and the writer is fastidious and tedious in his research. However, right or wrong in Gaffney’s thinking, “the heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?” Jeremiah 17:9.
