Today, Norm Goldman Publisher & Editor of Bookpleasures.com is excited to have as our guest Tara Brooke internationally known model and author of Beautiful Ambition: My Secrets to Love, Happiness & Success.

Good day Tara and thanks for participating in our interview

Norm:

Please tell our readers a little bit about your personal and professional background.

Tara:

Thank you, I am wife and mother to twins they are four years old now a little boy and a little girl. I absolutely love being a wife and mother! I am also the co-founder and VP of media relations to our nutrition company called Sevenpoint2.com we are the Alkaline Company we are committed to helping people by showing them how they can live Life alkalized and we make it easy! Before that I worked as a model and spokesperson for many years.

Norm:

On your website you state: “For years Tara has modeled sexy swimwear, lingerie, as well as hot fashions, and this has provided a solid foundation for her life calling which is to inspire and motivate others.” Would you care to tell our readers how this has provided a solid foundation for your life calling?

Tara:

Growing up I always dreamed of living a different life then what I had. My early years as a child proved to be very challenging my mom and dad went through a difficult divorce my mother had physical challenges at the time and there were extreme financial issues. Through it all I was able to see what was important to me. I grew up very fast but I always had a heart for others. Once I was able to strike out on my own as an adult I was able to make my dreams come true through personnel development and ambition! Traveling and modeling opened my eyes to many things both good and bad and I began to realize that I had a greater purpose and that was showing others how they too could change their lives for the better and have the life they only dreamed of! I get a great sense of purpose when I give back and sow seeds into the lives of other people.

Norm:

What is the one thing other people always seem to get wrong about you?

Tara:

Looks can be deceiving that’s for sure but I think every person on the earth gets judged in some way or another so I always keep that in mind. I live a great life but I am very down to earth and I have a big heart. I think that when some people see me they may think I fit into a superficial category based on the way I look and my background but it couldn’t be further from the truth. I do take good care of myself but I have done all the work on the inside and will continue that development every day.

Norm:

If you could change one thing about the world what would it be?

Tara:

I would say that I would want Love to be the center focus for the earth and everything that lives on it. If there was more Love everything would work itself out in every area!

Norm:

How did you decide you were ready to write Beautiful Ambition: My Secrets to Love, Happiness & Success? As a follow up, what makes your book different from the dozens of others that deal with the same topic?

Tara:

My book focuses on what I believe women want to know about. It’s my point of view on what I think matters and what I see most women going after in their lives. We all lead different lives and have unique lessons I put all of the ones that I have learned both good and bad in my book and offer perspective. I had a lot of people asking me how I was able to change my life and live my dreams they would see my life and wanted to know more about it so I decided to share everything that I did and have learned to get to where I am today.

Norm:

Was your work improvisational or did you have a set plan?

Tara:

I just started to write from the heart. I wanted this book to touch on all the details that I felt women needed to know about. I was very truthful in all areas that are important to the frame work of what I believe can ultimately help women achieve their dream life.

Norm:

What was the most difficult part of writing your book and did you learn anything from writing your book and what was it?

Tara:

Writing the book for me was like therapy I wrote about some of the things that I dealt with growing up but I really only touched lightly on it. My parents did the best job they could and I didn’t want this book to be about slamming my childhood. Instead I wanted to allow the reader to understand that it was difficult but I didn’t feel the need to go into detail. However it brought up a lot from my past. It was a wonderful experience. The most difficult part I think was the time it took to get it totally complete through the eyes of the publisher and then wait for the release date.

Norm:

Do you feel that writers, regardless of genre owe something to readers, if not, why not, if so, why and what would that be?

Tara:

Absolutely when I purchase a book I am looking to learn something new or be entertained I would love to have a new thought or have an author bring something into my mind in a new way. I also love to be inspired.

Norm:

Can you tell us how you found representation for your book? Did you pitch it to an agent, or query publishers who would most likely publish this type of book? Any rejections? Did you self-publish?

Tara:

I went to a wonderful group that shopped the book for me and we found a great home at Morgan James Publishing out of New York. I didn’t have any rejections because we started with them and after I was accepted I realized they were a great match for the book it was a great fit. I have never self-published although I think self-publishing is also a great way to go for people.

Norm:

Where do you get your information or ideas the articles you write on your blogs?

Tara::

I try to stay up on current events and things that interest me. I am passionate about family, health, fashion and I also keep up on politics and world issues so I read the papers other blogs and magazines.

Norm:

Do you hear from your readers much? What kinds of things do they say?

Tara:

I do get lots of questions from people seeking advice which I love that are my favorite thing about having a blog and a book. I love to be able to directly connect with a person and give them something that may change their lives big or small any impact that can be positive makes my day! I get lots of questions about men, relationship’s and staying in shape.

Norm:

Are you working on any books/projects that you would like to share with us? (We would love to hear all about them!)

Tara:

I am really focusing on promoting the book right now and of course our company sevenpoint2 my family always comes first but I am very passionate about helping people so I try to balance it all.
