Ms. Evans speaks about her youth, she was one of three children; all girls. Her father died of cancer when she was fifteen. The family got by on social security. Linda shares recipes from her mother, her grandpa Tony, and more. She tells about how she came to Hollywood, what it felt like to get her first part in a commercial. Throughout her life she struggled financially and emotionally to become the woman she is today. She possesses an almost childlike innocence of life and people which is absolutely refreshing and totally endearing. Ms. Evans has literally met the Queen of England and Prince Charles, lived the life of a fairytale princess with Yanni and some of her other leading men, traveled the globe working on films with some of the world’s biggest stars, and yet remains remarkably down to earth and natural.
Besides the many varied recipes Ms. Evans also provides the reader with quite a few pictures of the people she highlights in this book. The photos range from those films and television series she starred in to pictures with Hugh Hefner at the Playboy Mansion, and kissing Rock Hudson, boating with John and Pilar Wayne, filming Evil’s fated jump, buying a Rolls Royce and Mercedes from Sonny and Cher, meeting President HW Bush at the White House, her husbands and friends.
Ms. Evans loves food, friends, music, animals, and life! In this book she tells stories about her first riding horse gift from John Derek, romantic retreats with special friends and family, on the set scenarios with some of her cast from various films and television shows, how she wrecked her dream car and came to own a Jeep Cherokee, turning forty, saving a coyote, flying with the Blue Angels, having tea with the Queen, going to the White House to meet two presidents, winning awards, and more. Each story provides a glimpse into the personal and professional life of Linda Evans. She really is a remarkable and resilient woman. Read the book and I think you will agree.
