“It may be too late for Justice, but it is not too late for the truth” concludes author John Loftus in this latest edition of the original 1980’s version of his book “The Belarus Secret”.

Three access levels above Top Secret, the book’s author (a former US Justice Department Prosecutor and former Army officer), had access to files that had been stored for over thirty years in underground vaults protected by guards who had no idea of their contents. That was just as well, for the secrets contained inside the vaults spoke of decades of treason, corruption, violence, murder and financial espionage at the highest levels of the US government.  But Loftus shouldn’t have been surprised.  The first day of work in the Justice Department, he was welcomed with these words: “You now represent the most corrupt client in the world – the US government.”

The book is a detailed accounting of some of that corruption including the financial “rot inside the Justice Department” that began before WW11 and remains uncleansed; the Eisenhower administration roots of 9/11; the disappearance of captured Nazi archives stored in the attic of the Justice Department, not in the UN National Archives; the true story of the horror of White Russia, Byelorussia (the most dense concentration of Jews in the world at the beginning of WW11); the superficial hunt for Nazi war criminals; the cover-up of the Arab-Nazi brotherhood including the falsification of information to the Congressional 9/11 Commission; the ‘inside-language’ which conceals organizational connections of the various compartments of the US intelligence community; the increasing numbers of Saudi moneymen with ties to the GOP including the Carlisle Group where the Bush and Bin Laden families met to share financial investments - and the records of former Vice-President Dick Cheney’s connection to the Taliban which remain classified to this day.

In spite of threats against his and his family’s life when he wrote The Belarus Secret, Loftus continued to seek out truth when governmental secrets were declassified and wrote this book which addresses the involvement of the US Justice Department’s fixing of the Nuremberg trials; the funding of Hitler’s campaign by ambitious Washington lawyers; the countless Nazis who were brought into the United States and trained as cold war spies by the US Justice Department, all in the hope that the book would “help future researchers understand the connections between the visible branches of government and the secret roots of war.”

It’s a ‘heavy’ book in terms of its style (there are seventy-seven pages of Introduction, Preface and Prologue before Chapter One begins!), pedantic academic referencing, dramatic historical content, repetition of facts and circumstances, as well as editing inadequacies.  However, in spite of all of that, it is a book with an important message.

Author Loftus strongly believes that “it is not too late for the truth.”  Like prophets before him, he dares to speak the truth. The question is - will political leaders courageously push for further declassification of US secret documents, dare to establish a South African style ‘Truth Commission’, and judiciously deal with perpetrators regardless of their connection to powerful political Americans?

One can only hope – and commend John Loftus for his courage, tenacity and selfless dedication to doing what he can to unearth the truth.
