The Christmas Gift is a short, inspirational story of forgiveness and understanding. The story starts with a lawyer who has an irate client ready to sue for all he can. His lawyer knows the client has no case, but needs to find a way to help him see it too, and so the story begins.

When Scott moves to yet another new town, his process of making friends beings. Soon he is settled and part of a group but is troubled by one boy, a bully, who sees fit to make him miserable once a day. This boy causes everyone trouble and is not well liked. Scott hears many rumors about Ben and most of them are beyond belief. A few however are worrisome to Scott as they appear to be true. When Scott looses his temper one day and says words he doesn’t mean, his guilt pushes him to apologize to Ben and intern receive a gift far greater than he ever expected.

The Christmas Gift was a moving novel of reality, compassion, forgiveness and how our words can hurt far greater than ever imagined. It is a novel that will remind you to take a deeper look at people, giving them a chance to reveal their true self before judging them, knowing that things are not always what they seem. I enjoyed this short work of fiction. It has a wonderful story that will warm the soul. I felt like I was sitting with my grandpa as he told me a story of his past. The book is a great idea for a stocking stuffer or gift to someone you may know what to get this year. I liked the packaging of the book as well. It was smaller with “old” pages. They are the pages that give a book that comfortable, multiple read feel, but are not in fact old. I would recommend this book for a quick uplifting read, it only took me about 45 minutes to read the entire book.
