Today, Norm Goldman Publisher and Editor of Bookpleasures.com is excited to have as our guest Sam Moffie, whose fourth novel The Book of Eli has just been published.

Good day Sam and thanks for participating in our interview.

Norm:

The Book of Eli is your fourth novel, what keeps you going? As a follow up, did you find the process of writing your fourth novel any easier than the first three?

Sam:

Glad to be taking part in another interview with you Norm. I took too long to get started. Once I started I found that I couldn’t stop. The ideas, characters, plots and settings just keep on coming. I’m working on my 5th novel as we speak. Being able to self-publish was and is a big help too. Each novel that I have written has had their moments when it appeared to be easier than the previous ones. ‘Eli’ was only easier because it’s only 152 pages short.

Norm:

How did you go about creating Eli?

Sam:

Eli Canaan was easy. Creating a God, Heaven and Hell that hadn’t been touched upon by others was very tricky.

Norm:

What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?

Sam:

Most of the reviews of my earlier works always seem to say I have a ‘quirky’ style. Probably that my style is very non-linear that works out in the end. Being non-linear in a linear world stands out for me.

Norm:

If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?

Sam:

I might have dropped the mini epilogue and added a chapter that showed Eli using his new powers.

Norm:

What in your opinion makes a good satire?

Sam:

When humor is used to expose all the wickedness in the world.

Norm:

Which writer do you admire and feel you could never emulate?

Sam:

In no ranking order – Fitzgerald, Irving, Hugo, Robbins, Kosinski, Vonnegut, Rand and Heller.

Norm:

Do you worry about the human race?

Sam:

I worry about the human race because we do such a shitty job of helping each other.

Norm:

What books have most influenced your life most?

Sam:

All the works by the aforementioned writers. Biography’s of Churchill and Golda and others.

Norm:

Do you have any advice for other writers?

Sam:

Damn the rejections. There is nothing but a happy ending out there for you if you want that result. Patience, patience, patience.

Norm:

Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?

Sam:

Be sure to keep on reading.

Norm:

Where can our readers find out more about you and your novels?

Sam:

My WEB SITE (www.samsstories.com).  Amazon, Barnes and Noble. They can always email me at uel0409@aol.com

Norm:

Is there anything else you wish to add that we have not covered?

Sam:

Thank you for the forum and your professionalism.

Norm

Thanks again and good luck with The Book of Eli.
