Ivan Bolanos Gamero was born in Lima, Peru. He went on to finish his primary and secondary education at the Augusto Weberbauer German School. He also finished a career of Industrial Engineering at the University of Lima.

Ivan’s fondness for epics, fantasy and science-fiction tales has brought him to successfully write and publish The Crystals of Vuhran: The Athyrant.
This is an epic adventure/fantasy tale about the remaining survivors of Atlantis, an ancient kingdom that was lost thousands of years ago. We follow the survivors as they try and rebuild their homes, and watch as Aheolian-Priem, a young boy from another land, overcomes hardship and eventually becomes one of the finest soldiers of Eryahn.
Things seem to be going well for the soldier but little does he realise that one day a secret will change his destiny and force him and the other twenty chosen men into an epic battle. Who wins? What will the future be for all on the sides of the Ziahn Sea.
And what about the great treasure that is inherited from the Gods?
I have to say, that I was very impressed with the cover of this book. I think it is well fitting to the story and all the battles within the book that are written so cleverly and vibrantly. It immediately captures the readers attention and from then on, has us wanting to read the introduction and then the first chapter and onwards.
Although I have to be honest, I did not understand much of the book until I was at least part of the way through but that is probably just me. The beginning is great though, I just wish that the author had made everything just that little more clearer. It is a very cleverly written story and I loved all the weapons that the warriors used, it made this book very magical and the authentic character names brought everything together so perfectly. The way that these people planted foods, barley, wheat and beans - I feel Bolanos thought well and hard about how things would have been in that time era and has portrayed the scene wonderfully.
Bolanos keeps the narrative flowing at a good pace, with many fantastic descriptions throughout. Having a glossary of each character and the different names used for the months of the year, the provinces etc, plains , mountains and forests plus many other useful explanations is such a good idea. The maps also were a big help.
This book is most definitely a page-turner, keeping the reader hooked from the first chapter till the very last. Highly enjoyable.
