When a person takes a wrong turn in their lives, it seems to cause a chain reaction of even more bad choices. It reminds me that when someone tells an untruth, to continue the untruth, they must invent even more untruths. Supreme Love is a gut-wrenching, bare-all true story of one woman’s travels on an unsuitable, going-nowhere path.

The details are, at times, more than this reader could handle. I truly felt empathy for the author – having to relive the ordeals must have been extremely painful. Cyr details her financial problems and the unfortunate choice in marrying a man who was abusive. Complications include weight battles, alcohol indulgence, and more – living it all on an emotional roller coaster ride.

The conversations are there in this large format of 500 pages as well. They lend to the facts of the story, allowing the reader to truly feel the situation. The author has not left out anything in the telling of her life – her extended family, relatives, love life, concerns, the children, friends, enemies, divorce, her nursing career, and the numerous struggles.  The miseries this woman went through were many and unimaginable for most readers. However, f this book does nothing more than give us insight to the life of a battered woman, it has served its purpose. I would like to see it as a possible roadmap with clear directions out for those living this life.

Cyr wasn’t the first women who choose this path, nor was she the first to learn that God was there with open arms when she opened her eyes from the sleepwalk of a battered woman. Sometimes we must hit bottom before we know that it’s lonely and ugly down there. The author has obviously been “down there,” and she lived to carry her saga to others. I applaud her bravery and truth.

There are “players” in the world and the signs are there – “Supreme Love” spells many of them out. In the grip of the skillful players we find it difficult to see their true beings and dishonest intentions. No matter how good our hearts, we can’t rescue everyone who presents in our life -- hindsight of this is “Supreme Love.”

If you think your life is troublesome or your problems are many, you may want to read “Supreme Love.”  If it doesn’t overshadow your situation, it just may be the answer you have been looking for.
