Can You Really Get Rich Quick?
“The Letter Writer” is about all good things…money, love, the pursuit of happiness…and also about the pain and frustration all of those things can cause. We’ve all gotten them in the mail; we’ve all seen them and wondered if anything they promised could really be true. Is there a way to get rich…quick? Is there a way to end the frustrations of financial insecurity and find yourself right where you’ve always wanted to be?
For the lively and well-developed cast of characters in “The Letter Writer” the answer at first seems to be yes. All it took was a free copy of the rich mans investment letter and they are off on a Golden Cruise looking for the perfect opportunity. The characters include a pastor, a vixen, a retiring professor, and the feisty and perfectly written Adele Whitaker. Each character is given enough time and space to come to life in the reader’s imagination. As a reader, you wonder where these people are going, how they will meet, and if they will survive their own financial frustrations and futures intact.
If you are looking for a read that is both highly entertaining and highly thought-provoking, “The Letter Writer” may be the book you are looking for. While fiction, Mercer-Nairne does a fantastic job of making you think about the very real perils of our own greed and need for wealth and monetary worth. Shining light on the real dangers of all get rich quick schemes, “The Letter Writer” is guaranteed to make you think twice about whether it’s worth the risk or not. Whether you are a financial wizard or a poor dreamer, you will find a character with which you can create an instant bond within the confines of this book. The internal fight between greed and good is being waged on every page, from the opening men’s retreat until the final sentence.
What makes this book so captivating is that it could happen to anyone and probably has happened to people you know. The Seattle suburb that is at the heart of the story could be your neighborhood or the city across the river. There is no shortage of these schemes and promises in the world, and Mercer-Nairne leaves the reader contemplating what he or she would do in the exact same situation.
“The Letter Writer” is author Rober Mercer-Nairne’s first novel. A hereto unknown writing talent, “The Letter Writer” shows promise for more books to come. He lives in Malta.
