Hermanisms (Axioms for Business & Life)

Author: John. L. Herman Jr.

Publisher: HSB Press

ISBN: 978-0-9790204-1-4

John Herman is passionate about helping people struggling with a failing business. He considers himself an expert on how to learn from failure in order to achieve success in life as well as in business. Giving insight into his own life from his own experiences, John has successfully written Hermanisms. What a man!

Within the first few chapters we explore what makes a business fail. John says it is because they never make a profit. He also points out that Americans are wired to think they will always win, so when they take on a business, they are determined not to fail. If you study more of these surveys in John’s rich and absorbing book you will read on each and every page examples of his strong beliefs.

Always deal face to face

You need someone pushing you to keep working

Don’t keep running round in circles

There are some really good pointers to remember eg. there is a will in  humans that cannot be measured.  You cannot control every outcome but with careful planning, smart thinking, patience and great marketing, there is always some kind of achievement.

And yes, I think John has lived up to some of his ‘hermanisms’ by focusing not only on the editing of his book, but also on the whole of the cover. He explains that if you always give the best you can then the outcome will be positive. Thus John has really taken time with his book by enhancing a pretty plain book cover by embossing the title with gold. This book is certainly riddled with great advice from a man who knows his stuff. He points out that some companies might sell more then you but the key is to sell unique items as this will attract more buyers. And hey, some businesses cannot sell everything.

If you have a nice atmosphere in a location that is convenient for whatever business you are taking on, perhaps a sunny park or shops where people tend to congregate if you happen to own an ice-cream van, then you can’t go too wrong. Think of the types of people who are around that area and combine that with your business. There’s your answer. You should make a profit within weeks if you follow John’s precious advice and your own knowledge.

If you do fail, like many do, then review what happened and learn from these mistakes. We learn the hard way but also try and observe others when they fail and take notice. Learn what life is trying to teach you. If you take a wrong job at worse, you can always leave and take another. Trust is the key, and trusting yourself is usually the answer.

Debt is a destroyer, the worst form of cancer in our lives either in personal or business finances. John considers his day a success if he has done all he can do that day. He tells you, you can feel good about yourself if you succeed in small goals because these give you the motivation to gain bigger goals in the future. He is very persuasive and bounding with confidence.

Always make sure you have more money than you thought you needed in case of failure. It takes time for success to happen as it was for John writing his book.. People read  the reviews, buy the book, sometimes  passing it on to others   and  the message goes out to others that the book is good and a  worthwhile read  Definitely like John’s book ! You cannot go wrong if you pick up this superb read.

Some of the knowledge you will gain from reading the book is really rather elemental but John puts a new slant on even the simplest things. He has shown everyone he not only has a great gift in helping businesses that fail but  that he also has a great talent as an author. It is written with an up-beat approach and you can almost feel the adrenalin. Even if you aren’t an entrepreneur buying this to read will ensure a greater span of knowledge and surely some day that will  come in very useful. John also welcomes your own ideas and plans if you feel like contacting him by e-mail.  So what are you waiting for? Go and invest in John’s book and I’ll guarantee it’ll be one of the best decisions you’ll make.
