           Building Agreement to Win

Companies and corporations live in a crucible of change and finding repeatable ways to win is an unrelenting challenge. It is not surprising that those leading the organizations often turn to consultants to help them find winning combinations.

Brian D. Molitor, CEO of Molitor International, is well qualified to share insights and ideas and to assist any organization that desires to become and remain strong. Win Win Win is a highly readable contribution in this field and will be an asset in the hands of those looking for guidance in how to take a group of people to a more productive, successful level of operation.

This book is not only for the corporate world, however. The strategies and ideas put forth by Molitor apply to churches, communities, service organizations, non-profits and even parents who seek positive change within their areas of influence. Few people get through the day without having to cooperate, collaborate or just plain tolerate those with whom they work and live. Win Win Win offers many suggestions for everyone on how to develop better communication skills and create stronger working relationships.

Well organized with a clean layout, the reader quickly sees how the principles and ideas build upon one another. In the first chapter, the concept of organizational success through the Power of Agreement is explained and thoughts are offered on why so many organizations do not thrive. “Leadership commitment is the key to any successful change process,” according to Molitor, and he consistently gives example of how this key to success has the power to unlock solutions and answers often thought to be insurmountable.

Workplace culture is given significant attention and Molitor has learned through his many experiences in providing consulting services to trust the knowledge and insight found in many front line employees. His genius is in having a solid program for building the bridges of communication that must exist throughout all levels of the organization to be able to tap and share the intellectual assets residing in all members of the group.

Success begins with a clear purpose and direction so the work begins in defining the vision and mission, followed by communicating these clearly throughout the group. The “power of the plan” carries the effort through much hard work but the organizations that have the character and strength to see it through do come out winners.

I found the case studies included to be informative and well connected to the principles that precede them. The groups highlighted are the very fabric of our society and several are located in the Midwest, an area of manufacturing and service that has struggled mightily to manage the constant pace of change occurring in the last several decades.

Molitor does an excellent job of addressing both head and heart and steers blessedly clear of clichés, buzz words and corporate-speak. Sincerity and common sense come through in every page. I highly recommend Win Win Win to CEO’s, community leaders, shop managers, church groups, volunteer organizations and families who are seeking a primer on how to get - and keep - a grip on the organizational entities that are important to them.
