Our feline friends are rather independent little animals when it suits them or when they do not want their daily feed. Quite often they please themselves - if they need company they will let you know otherwise you can get lost.
Dogs are said to be man’s best friend cats on the other hand…
This humorous cartoon book written and illustrated by animal lover Molly Brandenburg takes a unique look at the cat world which it seems, consists of hairballs and dead things.
Cats make up their own excuses, they do not need a human to do that for them.
If they do not wish to do what you want them to, that’s your problem not theirs.
I loved the quirky illustrations of cats Molly has sketched. Page after page made me laugh. The picture-story of a cat who wants to go outside the cat-flap but then can’t decide. How realistic is this?I’m sure if you have ever been/are a cat owner you will definitely understand this one so well. One minute our moggies want to be outside the next it seems, they long to be kneading your lap or snoozing by the fire…or on your bed.
I couldn’t contain my laughter when I came across the picture of the cat spewing up a hairball. The words follow with the really comical drawings: “Hack, choke…spew….SPEW”This is just typical of a cat. Ever notice how they manage to cough up their hairballs when you’re trying to eat your dinner? Or perhaps even more disgusting, when you put your foot inside your slipper to find Felix has left you a “treat”?
Another illustration also features our cat digging his head inside the trash bin. He’s “investigating the leftover cat food situation” but claims he’s dieting. Hmmm…does your cat ever go scavenging for food? You’d think he’d never been fed!
I think if you own a cat you should definitely get this book - if only to show them it and say “this is what you’re like!”. Children will also no doubt adore this gem as it makes for easy reading too and lots of giggles.
Buy your friends this if they are “cat lovers” and buy one for yourself too. I have no doubt you will be laughing for a long time.
A funny, clever and entertaining little book with a great cover illustration too. If you read no other cat books this year, make this be the one. Truly Purrrfect!!
