Deborah and Joel Shlian have practised medicine together in a large multispeciality group before returning to UCLA for MBAs. They now reside in Boca Raton.

Lili is a young physician who has lived in America all of her life. Suddenly she is required to honour her dying mother’s wish and travel to China - a place Lili has never considered as her “home”.

She reluctantly sets off for China. Her extraordinary trip is filled with discoveries and people she never knew existed. Her trip has another surprise in store for her: she meets her grandfather who she always believed was dead. He lets her into his own discovery - he knows the secret to a long life.

As he shares his great knowledge with Lili, he unwittingly puts her in danger. Greedy men want in on the most amazing discovery of the century and they will stop at nothing to get what they want. Lili soon finds to her horror, she has become the pawn  in a deadly game.

All the way through this novel, from California to Hong Kong and China, the rabbit in the moon is the prized possession every one is after but who will win the great race?

I thought the authors brilliantly evoked not only the atmosphere scenery and culture of all the different countries but also the greed that each one of us can possess. I felt  sorry for Lili as more and more people tried to befriend her only for her to discover they only want in on her grandfather's research. Even those friends she once thought she could trust shatter the belief by their deceitful ways. In a world like this one, who can Lili turn to in a time of need?

I think this is a great book for those of you who have always wanted to travel to China but cannot for whatever reason. If you read this book, you are able to travel to this wondrous place in your heart if not in physical form.

A truly fantastic book that has lots of twists to keep you in suspense.

The front cover is beautiful and very reminiscent of China with its attention to detail and lovely colour combination.

A really entertaining, thrilling read of Lili’s adventure that kept me reading and reading and reading.  One you can’t afford to miss.
