What does a werewolf call a fur coat?
Darling!
Children love jokes and monsters. They especially love to laugh. That’s why Nikki Lange’s Extreme Monsters Joke Book is a true winner. The good news is that the adults attached to the reading child will also enjoy some of the jokes in this book. Usually, a child’s joke book is a repeat of the jokes we heard as children. It can be difficult to work up the laughter you need to share the reading experience with your child. This book’s different. Most of the jokes are new, so the humor is as new to you as it is to your child.
The book presents jokes in groups, by monster: vampire, Frankenstein, witch, werewolf, mummy, and more. Cute graphics present lovable little monsters. Appropriate icons separate each joke—it all works well to present a complete package of monster jokes. The monster slant works with any child, no matter the age.
Some of the jokes are a tad sophisticated. Others rely on historical information that some children might not possess, so not every child is going to “get” every joke, but that just works to make the book more appealing to a broader age group. If you’re lucky, your child will ask you why it’s funny and that’ll start a short educational discussion.
If your child likes jokes, he or she is bound to like this one.
