After a sensational debut with BABYMOUSE, Queen of the World, Matthew Holm
and Jennifer L. Holm are at it again, illustrating and writing BABY MOUSE,
Our Hero.
Baby Mouse continues with her trials and tribulations to be a "hero". In
school, she is "forced" by her alligator coach to be part of a dodge ball
game. She tries as much as she can to avoid the game because she always is
the target of "Felicia Furry Paws". In order to avoid participating, Baby
Mouse continues to daydream. She is a private in a boot camp, a
Super-Mouse, an uproarious Babymousillah, a swashbuckling pirate and as
well, she is in a war scene. Finally, she drafts her last will and
testament leaving all her possessions "to Wilson the Weasel and all her
chores to her Little Brother Squeak!" She goes to the game as if to her
funeral! And surprise, surprise, guess who wins? But Felicia Furry Paws has
another trick up her sleeve! Hysterical black and white illustrations are
there again with a pink background for the daydreams.
The only part I found disturbing was the war daydream. It was kind of sad in this otherwise light
tale. Boys and girls will enjoy this funny and sweet comic story. We all
are looking forward to Baby Mouse's next adventure in Beach Babe.
