This 80-page book has more valuable tips and humor than you’ll find in any other book. “Be A Better Partner” is written by husband and wife team, Debbie and Paul Lamb. It all started innocently enough – the honeymoon is virtually over and you are driving each other crazy. It happened to the Lambs, but they knew there had to be a better way. Not only did they co-author a book, they co-founded “Lambs on Love.” Lucky for us!
The book starts off with their personal story – the short version. This gives the tips and techniques validity since they have tried these ideas out. The chapters are set up to address different areas of the relationship and provide ideas that enhance the relationship and actually allow your partner to see things from your side.
Adventure Month – trying something new or different that you, as a couple, have dreamed of doing or have never done before. This gives the relationship some fresh air. I can’t imagine my spouse actually taking me seriously should I suggest skydiving or goat herding, but we tried this first step and it was actually fun!
Surprise Me Month – this will allow room for spice. No boredom this month because you will be expecting the unexpected.
Each month there is something different to challenge you to have fun! No more getting so rutted in a routine – it’s all about being a better partner.
I interviewed the Lambs on my In Short Order radio show. I have never laughed so much or thoroughly enjoyed two guests as much as this couple. I could tell not only from the book but the interview that they practice what they write. Paul told my listeners that he has a new respect for Debbie – braiding hair isn’t easy!
I can only imagine the improvements that can be made from reading and trying what the Lambs know to work. I especially liked the “Swap Chores Month.” This gives your partner a better insight to what you do and the appreciation of how hard it is to, say for instance, braid hair or change a tire. I believe it also opens the door for better communication.
Satisfying relationships take work – and “Be A Better Partner” is a tool to get there.
