"Get Unstuck" helps those that want to help themselves find out why they are where they are, how they got there, and deciding what changes to make for yourself.
"Changing Your Life" is the first chapter and is truly a great place to start. Seeley writes, "Change happens instantly! Deciding to change usually takes some time -- sometimes years." When our lives aren't going as we want or expect, it would be a good idea to change things to get back on track, heading in the direction we want to go. Seeley divulges his "worst year." He was fired from two jobs in a six-month period, his friend committed suicide (and he was the one who found him), his dog died, and he, because of his reactions due to depression, lost his bride-to-be. He was diagnosed with depression, but he claims that he was a victim -- of denial. He talks about things we may think when we are in a depressed state -- I am not worthy; there's no way out; I must deserve this. At the end of the chapter, Seeley suggests the reader answer four questions about themselves. Afterward, there is a place to write personal notes.
"There is a way out" chapter suggests that we cannot solve the problem with the same mind that created it -- Albert Einstein. Seeley explains that one must relax before any decisions can be made. He goes on to talk about miracles and growth versus decay.
"Your Word" is a chapter that I could identify with. How many of us know those that have broken their promise? Their word? Seeley claims that each time you break your word you actually lose self-esteem "Your word, and how you keep it, determines how you feel about yourself."
The self-help chapters continue with "Fear vs Desire," "How to Change Your Mind," and end with "The Next Step." Each chapter is short and easy to follow; questions afterward are direct and encourage the reader to question and investigate their lives and themselves. In the end, you may understand what it means to take your power back, the art of forgiveness and commitment, and gratitude -- all things for making a well-rounded person to be in charge of your life.
John Seeley has a Master's Degree in Psychology and "helps people overcome obstacles to make their dreams come true." He is also the "President/CEO of Blue Moon Wonders and Heart Fire Seminars." There are other "Get Unstuck" topic books available at www.getunstuck.com.
