G..M. Ford has authored the widely praised Frank Corso series, Fury, Black River, Red Tide, No Man’s Land, A Blind Eye and Blown Away and other acclaimed novels which feature Seattle private investigator Leo Waterman. Ford was formally a create-writing teacher in western Washington.He lives in Oregon and is now working on his next novel.
The book cover of his latest foray, Nameless Night is sinister, dark and mysterious which immediately makes you want to open it and read.
The first writing you read is a poem In The Desert by Stephen Crane, which I found weird but did enjoy reading very much. It relates to the story in this novel - you need to study it for yourself though and see the link!
Paul Hardy, a victim of a traumatic car accident, is now left with a horribly disfigured face and memory loss.He can’t remember much about his past life but remains determined to discover who he is. Paul decides the only way to uncover the truth is to go on a cross-country quest and find the answers he so desperately seeks.
Throughout his journey, Paul Hardy encounters some very dangerous people. Some want him dead whilst others… He has also attracted the attention of federal agents who now seem very keen in finding him. Who and what was “Paul Hardy” before he suffered his memory loss? Time will tell.
However with only a name to go on, the big question is will it be enough? I am not giving anything away here if you enjoy a good thriller, read this. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.
G.M Ford has taken a break from his Frank Corso and Leo Waterman series to produce this new book. I think the story works very well and could be a big hit. Characters are believable, backdrops are realistic providing the reader with a sense of “see, touch, smell” and the plot is well thought out.
Right from page one you can’t wait to find out what the outcome is and although in a way this type of story about amnesia has been done to death, you quickly discover that this tale is rather different.
This is a thriller of the very best. Paul is an identifiable hero with his own personality.
Ford has a great imagination which he puts to good use. His writing style is fluid and utterly captivating.
I did not see the outcome coming but when it does it will probably likewise amaze you.
Overall, a story full of suspense and getting to grips with reality. Totally addictive and mind-blowing!
