The Twisting, Tempting Journey Continues

Authors Dave & Rose Cox created a magical and mystical world in their first book, The Sons of Maeve Trilogy.  That world is furthered along in Aarrawn’s Labyrinth, the spectacular follow-up to the original stories of Thann & Gimble.

Heroes Thann & Gimble literally fell into another world at the start of the first book.  A quest to find a missing father leads to one new civilization after another, each one more captivating than the last.  As Thann & Gimble return to Darmid as heroes, there is a sense that the adventures have ended.  Thann & Gimble begin to build a new life in a new world, only to be reminded of their original quest by a few scraps of paper.  Could Thann’s father really have made it this far?  Was he once in the nearby caves?  Is he still there?  Will father and son finally be reunited?

Instead of a father, Thann & Gimble find themselves lost in a cold and dark world, the light long cut off by Aarrawn and his dangerous Cwn.  Caught up again in between warring clans and factions, Thann & Gimble must fight not only for their lives, but for the future of a once prosperous land.  However, Aarrawn’s call is strong on Thann’s heart.  As he finds himself wandering the dangerous labyrinth designed to keep people from ever leaving, Thann must come face to face with the darkness inside himself to overcome Aarrawn.

Believable characters and magically real settings make Aarrawn’s Labyrinth a worth successor to the original story of Thann & Gimble.  Flawed enough to be relatable to the average person, Thann is the everyman hero that reminds readers of heroes from some of the great works of fiction.  Gimble, as his foil, provides both comic relief and a voice of reason when Thann is too caught up in saving the day to save himself.

Readers of The Sons of Maeve Trilogy knew there was more to the story, and they will not be disappointed with the magical journey of Aarrawn’s Labyrinth.  Aarrawn’s Labyrinth is a fast-paced and well-written magical odyssey that almost begs to be read in one sitting.  Appealing to reads of any age, Aarrawn’s Labyrinth invites readers to let the power of their imagination have complete control as Dave & Rose Cox craft a world unlike any other.
