The book is for sleep-deprived parents. The authors wrote the book because there were too many exhausted moms and dads out there that needed the confidence and guidance when it came to their child learning a sleep schedule. They offer guidance as you create your own customized sleep plan and based on their experience, they let you know that you are doing the right thing for your child.
Teaching your child can be emotional. With this book, there is less stress and worry – and results are fast. They say it’s never too late to resolve your child’s sleep problems, but in their practice, they do not see children under 4-months of age. By this time, the child has learned ways to sooth themselves such as sucking their thumbs. This is important in the sleep plan you will develop for your child.
Sleep deprived children have difficulties with development. Sleep deprived parents have difficulties maintaining a relationship and lack of sleep may even lead to depression. Naps are just as important. In “The Sleepeasy Solution,” results may be seen in a week. Getting your child on a regular sleep schedule normally takes 2-4 nights.
The Sleepeasy Solution outlines the “sleep stealers.” A consistent routine is important when teaching your child anything. However, it’s often overlooked when it comes to sleep. The crying and frustration are no longer when following the step-by-step guidelines outlined in the book. There are sleep stealers that I had never considered before. This was truly eye opening and may save hundreds of dollars with regards to therapists.
No matter how much the child protests bedtime or naps – the book has a solution. No matter if the child plays the “I’m thirsty” card – the book has a solution. The discomfort level parents may feel when starting the sleep schedule is easily soothed because the book offers grounded support. Just knowing the stage of development in your child and how it affects their sleep is worth the time to read this book. Separation anxiety, nightmares, potty training, and the thought if starting school are special areas where parents may need help.
The Sleepeasy Solution doesn’t slack in providing answers for the first five years of your child’s life. If you travel a great deal, there are tips to help your child sleep away from home. Moving can be a big change and may cause sleep problems for children, but the authors have covered this and other topics, as well. This book is highly recommended for military families since they are normally relocating every couple years, one or both parents are on active duty away from home, and schools are changed regularly.
This is a book that you will buy, use, and pass on to other mothers. If this book had been around when my children were growing up, I may have had the energy to play that extra game of tag football or had not nodded off during the school play. Kudos! The authors have provided expert solutions in an area that has frustrated parents for generations.
