So Your Muse has gone AWOL by Pamela Johnson and Lori Soard

The following review was contributed by: JULIE AMIDON

Pamela Johnson and Lori Soard have served up a ingeniously full writers toolbox with “So Your Muse has gone AWOL”; creating an excellent resource for both the beginning and experienced serious writer.

Half way through your novel and the words won’t come? Your editor needs an article and you don’t know what to write? Never fear! “So Your Muse has gone AWOL” is chock full of resources, ideas, tips and exercises to call your muse back home.

Pamela Johnson and Lori Soard have done their homework, this book covers the bases from writers groups, using ALL your senses to nurture the creative muse, writer’s retreats, overcoming obstacles, both physical and mental, quotes at every turn from those who have been there, along with 364 days of writing exercises and observations make “So Your Muse has gone AWOL” an excellent addition to any serious writers bookshelf. At only $13.99 it makes a Great Christmas Present too…(hint hint).

Quote from “So Your Muse has gone AWOL”:

Our goal in putting together this workshop in book from has been o inspire you and help you in your journey. Both of us have been fortunate enough to have mentors and seasoned authors who have helped us along our paths as writers. Not every author is that lucky, so this is our way of sharing with your what we have been taught. We all have moment when we can’t imagine picking up a pen or sitting one more minute in front of the computer—being prepared that this is normal is half the battle.

They explore everything from aromatherapy, (did you know that Lavender can encourage feelings of exhilaration or relaxation?), meditation, exercise, physical & emotional issues, to music, (including lists of “mood” songs), some great ideas here; I like the quotes from other writers, it’s like sitting down with a bunch of friends and sharing tricks of the writers trade.

The writers exercises are thoughtful, useful, and sure to kick start a muse stuck in a rut. They are especially useful for fiction writing, but also well suited for creative, essay, human interest story writers as well.

I like the daily motivational quotes: Day 15 - Just Do It. That pretty much sums up the whole premise of the book, Pamela Johnson and Lori Soard have served up a ingeniously full writers toolbox with “So Your Muse has gone AWOL”; creating an excellent resource for both the beginning and experienced serious writer.

The following review was contributed by S.V.SWAMY The Cancer Monologue Project is a collection of 30 monologues written and presented by survivors of cancer and in a few cases by their close kin. Two of them are about one person, written by the person and his spouse. In the space of a few pages, each account took me deep into the psyche of the sufferer. I got a close-up view of the problem. The accounts are totally frank, since the participants in this project have chosen this way to...

article Money Mama & The Three Little Pigs by Lori Mackey(Author) Nicole Lomonaco and Icy Young (Aritsts)
The following review was contibuted by: CAROLYN HOWARD-JOHNSON I have a theory about children and money that is not rooted in science. I believe that babies pop out with ingrained personality traits that translate into the way they handle money from the time they are little to adulthood. This may not sound like the beginning of a promising recommendation for a book like Lori Mackey’s Money Mama and The Three Little Pigs which gives children a sound philosophy for how to handle money. But...
