Good day Joanna and thanks for participating in our interview. 

Norm:

Why do you feel that Unleash The Psychic In You: How To Trust Your Intuition for Successful Decision Making was an important book for you to write and for all of us to read at this time? 

Joanna:

Norm, thank you! It's time for people to embrace the power that exists within them, to stop asking the wrong people for advice and to begin building trust in themselves. Just because someone is psychic doesn't mean they will give you the best guidance.  

My goal is to encourage people to instill confidence in their choices. After working with over 1,000+ clients it became evident to me that people struggled with making decisions regarding love, career, finances, home and health and most importantly low self-esteem.

One very respected and successful TV producer confided that she was stumped as to why she couldn't make a relationship work, let alone meet, "The One." My clients often told me they wished they were like me. If only they knew the truth about my past; that I had been in a toxic codependent relationship way past its sell by date and fell $100,000 into debt. I carried so much guilt and shame inside me, despite successfully helping my clients. I built up courage and decided to reveal the things a psychic doesn't want you to know. It was the best thing I ever did. I want your readers to know everyone has intuition.

What is the AmericanIntuitionCoach.com? 

Joanna:

AmericasIntuitionCoach.com is my blog packed full of my Intuition Secrets about how to develop your own psychic awareness and use it effectively in everyday life. Many psychics I've met struggle to be centered and grounded so you must be aware when selecting a psychic for a psychic reading. 

I give a checklist of how to know if a psychic is right for you and various steps and techniques to get acquainted with the world beyond our eyes. You don't see radio waves, however you know they exist. It's the same with seeing energy and spirit. Intuition is a muscle that can remove the stress of decision-making and bring peace and clarity into your life.

You can also download a free chapter, "Meet My Best Friend: She's called Intuition." I also host a free Intuition Secrets teleseminar once a month. The next call is “Remove Financial Blockages & Debt using Intuition" because I want to help people who are struggling with their finances. I understand. I've been there! I take everyone through a guided meditation, making it experiential so people can move beyond the intellect of intuition and feel their own connection to intuitive guidance. I also coach a few select clients one-on-one who want to accelerate their intuitive abilities. I love seeing my clients make powerful decisions. 

Norm:

Do you feel that most business owners don’t use their intuition when it comes to running their businesses? As a follow up, what suggestions would you make? 

Joanna:

I see many business owners panic when it comes to making the best decisions. Sometimes they are fearful to take the next productive step, other times they are impulsive later regretting their choices.  

I show people a 7-step process to help a business owner understand the motivation for their actions. It is common for a business owner to say, "I'm doing everything right and things still aren't working." My response is, "You are consciously doing your best however if you can't see your blind spot and everyone has a blind spot, then your unconscious mind will sabotage your goals."

I recommend that when an important decision needs to be made like making a large financial investment or taking on a partner, sit with the decision. Emotions and fear block clarity. You need to make a choice from a place of calmness. Make the decision when you are ready, not because you feel pressured. It'll work in your favor. 

Norm:

With the terrible state of our economy as well as the stock market, how can our intuition help us in overcoming the many challenges that we are facing today? 

Joanna:

Your intuition can help you see the bigger picture. It can also assist you in seeing other options. People jump to the conclusion that their options are black or white with no in-between. There is always another way. Intuition gives you access to visionary ideas that enable a person to turn a negative situation into a positive outcome. Intuition gets you thinking outside of the box and that puts you ahead of the crowd.  

Many entrepreneurs rely on intuition, like Bill Gates and Sir Richard Branson. Based on the Law of Polarity, it is possible to create a successful economy. Willingness to do things differently is a first step in the right direction.

Norm: 

As there does not seem to be any authoritative standards that exist for authors of subject matters similar to yours, how do you know that a particular book is up to par? How do you check out the authorial competence?

Joanna: 

When I was developing my intuition, I read many New Age self-help books on psychic development and intuition. Some were fabulous and others terribly disappointing. When I read something I considered under par, I'd write in my journal the things that I felt were missing and what I would have liked answered. I then prayed and meditated on these questions over several years. I received my answers through life experience and eventually went on to share them in, Unleash The Psychic In You. A good way to see if an author is competent is to ask people whom they'd recommend. If you hear an author's name mentioned in a positive light three times, that's a good indicator.

Norm: 

What was one of the most surprising things you learned in writing Unleash The Psychic In You: How To Trust Your Intuition for Successful Decision Making?

Joanna: 

I experienced a profound self-healing as I wrote Unleash The Psychic In You. Sometimes when I was writing, my hands would begin buzzing and my body felt like it was on fire. I was compelled to write. I could feel spirit guiding me. I also felt the weight of shame for my past mistakes lifted. I realized I was doing the best I knew how at the time. I learned just because I'm psychic doesn't mean I'm super human! I also became more psychic as I wrote the book; it felt amazing.

Norm: 

How would you respond to potential readers who might be sceptical about the subject matter of the book?

Joanna:

It's healthy to be sceptical. I was rather sceptical until I communicated with deceased relatives of clients whom I'd never met. I'm still surprised when it happens. I'd encourage a potential reader to have an open mind. I like Al-Anon's motto, "Take what you like and leave the rest." I know there is at least one pearl of wisdom in Unleash The Psychic In You for everyone. 

Norm:

What challenges or obstacles did you encounter while writing your book? How did you overcome these challenges? 

Joanna:

My biggest challenge was getting over my initial writer's block. I wanted to make a difference in people's lives. I knew there were lots of psychic books already published and I knew it wouldn't be enough to write another book on psychic techniques.  

One day I was talking with my dear friend and branding specialist Kim Castle and she said, "What is the purpose of your book?" "I want to heal people," I said. "How can you do that?" she said. Then it struck me, "Share my personal story and all the mistakes I made because that's what made me successful." For about twenty-four hours I was panicked. What would people think? Then my attitude shifted. I stopped worrying because I knew people would relate. Everyone's made mistakes in love and life. Once I got over this hurdle, I wrote Unleash The Psychic In You in six weeks.

Norm: 

Do you hear from your readers much? What kinds of things do they say?

Joanna:

I hear from my readers often and I love the connection! They say "I'm so much happier since I began to trust my intuition." "I had the courage to start my new business and I'm excited." "I wish I'd ended the relationship sooner, I feel so much better." "All these amazing miracles are happening and I can see auras!" "I don't stress out about my choices. Once I've decided, I trust. The more I do, the easier it gets." 

Norm:

Any unique ways you'll be marketing your book that is different from how others authors market their books? 

Joanna:

A personal connection is very important to me. When I wrote Unleash The Psychic In You, I had a specific intention of the reader experiencing deep healing. I know some people will feel the effects immediately. My intuition told me a long time many, many people will be reading Unleash The Psychic In You. It will create a collective shift in our community's consciousness. So, the unique way I'll be marketing my book is by me being me and reaching out to each person for an authentic heartfelt connection. No B.S. I trust people will feel my sincerity and authenticity.  

Norm:

Is there anything else you'd like to share with us?

Joanna:

I know that anything is possible when you allow yourself to be receptive to God's essence. I know some of you are going through big challenges right now and I understand how painful it is. In your darkest hour, you'll see the light. I remember walking through the driving rain in London, penniless and miserable and the light ignited in my heart. It was ever so faint and fragile but it was there. Two weeks later I was hosting my own TV show that aired across Europe. No dream is too crazy or silly. Believe in yourself. Trust your intuition and it will always guide you safely.
