Philip Gardiner, author of Secret Societies (Gardiner’s Forbidden Knowledge), has previously written many bestsellers. He has also appeared on TV, radio shows around the world and he has written for over 200 magazines and newspapers as well as directing several DVDs.

Philip imagined that the secret organization he had been investigating had disappeared after the Second World War. However, he was shocked when he found himself at a Nazi watering hole after being whisked out of Berlin in a black Mercedes. Luckily he was shaken up but still alive.

In Secret Societies (Gardiner’s Forbidden Knowledge), he endeavours to uncover the truth behind the world’s secret societies. A very interesting read for those of us who enjoy investigating these societies.

Have you ever wondered how the Buddhist Wheel of Life is interlinked with our astrological chart? Philip explains this concept in the wonderful and mind-boggling chapter “Heavenly Bodies: The Gods of the Ancients”.

It is surely a chapter that should interest those among you who have a taste for these cosmic theories. What is discussed in “Heavenly Bodies” was something that instantly fascinated me and although the mind does tend to boggle, it was an idea I think most of us would like to believe.

Moving on, we explore the origins of Freemasonry and its links to the serpent cults.
A passage by J. Marques-Rivere is included. It captures the subject well. He tells us: “This mysticism is indeed the great Masonic Secret, the Supreme Initiation…It is old as is this world.”

Exploring the past of Freemasonry, many references to Jesus are mentioned and the Gods. It is a section that speaks volumes, going way back into the history of Freemasonry.
“The Knights Templar” is indeed a chapter to read. And let’s face it as Gardiner says himself, no book exploring the myriad myths and tales of secret societies could possibly leave out the Knights Templar.

This is a brilliant chapter that all should read. How many actually know much about the Templar? Supposedly a group of nine knights were said to have forged the Knights Templar in Jerusalem but my lips remain sealed as to what the Knights did. You will have to read more to find out for yourself.

When I mention the Da Vinci Code, I’m sure many will be intrigued. Well Gardiner  explains all in the next chapter. Read it and be amazed of the secrets of the Da Vinci Code.

Another incredible chapter is about the hidden meanings of King Arthur and England’s much loved outlaw, Robin Hood. All very interesting, definitely a section of this book worth reading.

This is an impressive account of investigations into the world of secret societies. There is something for everyone inside this fascinating collection of studies carried out by best-selling author, Philip Gardiner.
