Do you believe in an all seeing presence? Well you may do after reading this book.

I thought the cover of this book was attention-grabbing, with a keen eye to detail. The greyish black against the salmon pink works wonderfully, especially with the lovely pale pink flower. Very fitting.

Through many hard times, the tragic death of his grandfather and also a fatherless childhood, John Aldrich Simpson turned to religion to help him through the hard times in life. In this evocative memoir John takes us on a journey through his childhood without a father figure and a mainly directionless upbringing. He remained haunted by his grandfather’s death in a world where God seemed to be the only way of escape.

John was also left to tackle his grandfather’s enemies who were full of bitterness and anger towards him.

He later found himself in the same shoes as his grandfather, where death was almost staring him right in the face. He confronted many of his own demons and when he was shot John thought that this was the end. Fortunately he came back from the shadows of death and found religion. Full of despair he turned to God who showed him the light at the end of a seemingly gloomy tunnel. John had now only one thing left to do which was to find who he really was and discover his true purpose in life.

Will he make it? How will John cope when one of his friends is killed? Read this spiritual, moving book and find out.

At first I thought this book wasn’t going to be as good as I had originally thought because after reading the first chapter the vulgar language put me off . Also it took me a while to get into the flow of the story but as you read more of this memoir it does start to grow on you bit by bit.

Over all this is still quite a good book and I am sure that people who have a strong faith in God will enjoy reading it.

Throughout this powerful book John encourages readers to reach out to God in their time of need in order to be healed and comforted. John insists he is direct proof that the Bible is very much alive so why not give it a go yourselves?

A book that gives you plenty to think about.
