K. David has worked in the removal business for fifteen years. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Massachusetts. Currently David lives in Boston, Massachusetts.

This book is everything city lovers will lap up. It is full of wit, humour, lots of laughs and reminders that you should never give up.
Twenty-year-old Kamaul David is a young college student looking for a way to add to his savings and eager to find a job. That’s when a company, Big Barney, snapped him up. Moving items day to day for clients in the boiling heat, Kamaul struggles under these weather conditions but gradually he learns life is sometimes not just as it seems.
However he is determined to make this job work at whatever cost. New friends are formed and there are many laughs along the way. Young single women are an attraction as Kamau works but perhaps it isn’t the women he should be worried about for gay men are also on the prowl! His friends keep him level-headed though and remind him that each day, there is always work to be done and work means money. His family provide the much needed support that enthusiastic Kamaul needs and things really do brighten up.
There are some encounters and the police are never far from the scene but the one big lesson Kamaul learns in life is that you never quite know what a person is like - until you look underneath their bed.
Personally this book wasn’t really my type of thing although I did really enjoy parts of it but found some parts a bit confusing. At the end I had to ask myself what did it all mean? We do learn with Kamaul as he progresses through his job and through life.
Also what on earth was with the poems at the end of each chapter? Are they meant to mean something to Kamaul (David) or for us the reader too? Perhaps I am missing the point? Some of the poems are good others I found rather puzzling. For instance In The Arena , made me wonder do we really want to spent time to study this? . . I wasn’t so impressed with some of the poetry but the more excellent poems are the ones he wrote at the end of the book.
However I’m just the reviewer, don’t let me be the judge, if you love American wit then grab this urban tale and have a read of it yourself. You can’t go wrong if this is your thing.
