Author: Margaret Briggs

Publisher: Black and White Publishing

ISBN: 978-1-84502-162-7

Margaret Briggs, who was a teacher for 30 years, has written four other books in this series including Honey - a very worth while book for lovers of this sweet and viscous fluid.

Margaret, along with her husband, now divides her time between Sussex and her restored home in south-west France.

Vinegar has remained an essential ingredient in Britain. We British folks it seems, enjoy nothing better then to douse our fish and chips in this substance that was first discovered more then 10,000 years ago. Imagine that!

Other then its main use- adding a bit of spice to our food, vinegar has several useful elements. For instance, it has amazing cleaning properties - cleaning even brass- ware. It can also aid in constipation and relieve cramps. Just think of that. Why take medication when nature’s own healer is at hand?

When you start to read this excellent, resourceful book full of recipes, uses and hundreds of tips all to do with vinegar, it’s impossible to put it down.

Inside are even tips I have never heard of before but will now put into effect. Next time you think about cleaning out that dishwasher, why not use the tip in this collection and apply vinegar as it can cut through the grease in no time leaving everything sparkling in its wake including your dishes!

Have a problem with slugs eating your vegetables? Why not take Briggs’ advice and make use of the vinegar! It can get rid of these nasty, slimy bugs in no time. I won’t tell you the secret though, you will need to read this resourceful book for yourself.

I never knew vinegar could be used to reduce the swelling of sunburn. I don’t know if I shall use this tip though because I really cannot stand the smell of the stuff. However I’m sure others will be pleased to come across this one - especially as us Brits like to sunbathe a lot and quite often are prone to sunburn.

There is simply too much information to put into a single review on a book like this one.The layout is eye-catching and simple to read. You can easily find what you are searching for with the handy contents page and also the useful appendix found toward the end of this book. Margaret Briggs is clearly a woman who knows her vinegar…do you?
