Spiritual Clarity contains information that the author gathered during an
evaluation of her religious beliefs. She starts out the book with a very
short outline of various religions. Since, the author comes from a Christian
perspective, Christianity is written about in length. Furthermore, various
sects of Christianity are also explored, mostly in paragraph form. Other
religions are then also outlined in a paragraph or two, in no particular
order. The rest of the book, then looks at controversial religious topics
such as evolution versus creationism and the inhuman things people do in the
name of religion.
I really liked the general idea behind this book. The author's intension to
show the importance of tolerance is worthy of respect and admiration.
Unfortunately, in the process of showing the significance of this process,
the author shows her own brand of intolerance through her bias to
Christianity and evolution. In order to be truly tolerant, you can't assume
that everyone has the same truth or that there is some ultimate truth.
