Myrna Lou Goldbaum’s book is an encapsulated version of some of her palm reading
sessions that span from the year 1956 to 2003. These reading take place in
various venues, from a quiet corner in her high school to the familiar
surroundings of her parked car but they all have the same need for answers that
talking with Goldbaum can hopefully give them.

This is a quick but interesting read - one of those books easy to jump into and
out of while waiting on someone or something. In a way, that is a theme with the
book as well. Each and every one of the people who she did readings for seemed
to be waiting to see what to do next. Goldbaum’s readings seem to help quell the
“what if” and confirm that they were making the best decision available to them
at the time. I found myself becoming interested in each person’s story and
frustrated that there were so few with final endings to the dilemmas at hand. I
know that is one of the drawbacks to the job, but as a reader, I still found
myself wanting to know what opening doors the advice and slight steering from
Goldbaum provided them. I also would have like to have a little more background
on the author herself – what got her interested in palmistry, how she learned
the art and how she decided that this was her calling in life rather than just
to “break the ice and meet new people.”

I find this to be a very interesting book to read and still find myself from
time to time picking it back up and randomly rereading stories. Each person has
a different motivation as to why they came to Goldbaum for a reading. Yet in the
end, the common thread is just the reassurance to trust your gut and that
everything will turn out as it should in the end.
