The Poison Plum is not like any mystery thriller I have ever read. That could be because it is close to my heart, home and links can be found in the news almost on a daily basis. The link is Lyme disease. The work may be fiction, but those that know about and live with this disease see that the book smacks of truth. Lots of truth!

Susan is a single mother who earns a living as a scientist at the infamous Plum Island laboratory. Her son, Toby, has an illness that baffles the doctors and when the truth is leaned, it jeopardizes their very existence on this planet.

What Susan risks to reveal the truth will leave you on the edge of your seat with your heart pounding – you’ll wonder if others might see your distress – so much so that I almost wanted to flip ahead, past the security check section, just to still my nerves.

From Washington to New York to Connecticut, to Cuba, the action leaps off the pages. There is a government cover-up and the players will crawl under a snake’s belly to protect their behinds – even if it means murder.

The congressman and his wife – we have seen their tragic demise in the newspapers. The doctor and his wife – just innocent pawns in the NWO plan. Aunt Cathy – I wonder if she has any fingernails half way through the book. And the journalist – well, all I can say is we need more of his kind writing our newspapers and scripts for television news broadcasts.

Surprises, twists, and turns -- but never calm. This story will take you to the depths of hell and back again. You will wonder where up is and hope you don’t find down. You will begin to question things you read in this morning’s newspaper over breakfast. You will rush to the television to catch the nightly news headlines – and hoping Plum Island (and all the bio labs) are being shut down as the government officials that are in-the-know about such places are doing the perp-walk across your screen. You will turn up the radio to hear the latest mass murder story – and you’ll wonder…was it near a bio lab?

Secrets, lies, and experiments are everywhere. Les Roberts brings them all together, places them between two covers, and asks if you’re brave enough to learn the truth. Are you willing to bite off a piece of real Alabama history? You know, the experiment that the CDC and other government agencies would like you to forget? Chew on it as you are propelled into the “new” Tuskegee experiment – that which includes ticks, tricks and torment…compliments of the U.S. government

Look over your shoulder – is someone following you?
